Game of Thrones has come to an end, and despite a divisive finale season, many fans are going to miss the series that gradually became a genuine pop culture phenomenon over the past decade.

To help us bid farewell to the show's main characters and the actors that brought them to life, EW has shared a batch of never-before-seen photos from the final season. There's a mix of BTS shots and publicity stills, along with two alternate covers for the latest issue of the magazine.

Check out the images below, and let us know what you thought of the final season - and season finale - of Game of Thrones in the comments.

The Iron Throne

Stars Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington, along with showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff, in the Red Keep’s charred throne room. “If 10 years ago somebody had given me a chance to write a ticket, I wouldn’t have been crazy enough to write a ticket to something this great,” Weiss says.

Well, what used to be the Iron Throne!

Here, Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke pose with showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff in the charred remnants of the Red Keep's throne room.

Jon Snow

Jon Snow prepares to enter.

Here, Kit Harington prepares to shoot one of his final scenes as Jon Snow.

In the end, the true heir to the throne decides to head north - the real north, that is - with Tormund, Ghost and the wildlings to start a new life. Let's be honest, he's earned it!

Table Read

The cast reacts to a surprising moment during the season 8 table read.

This is a BTS photo from the upcoming Game of Thrones documentary.

Harington may be smiling here, but right after this snap was taken he finds out that Jon kills Dany, and the tears flow.

Jon And Dany

Jon and Dany snuggle.

This being A Song of Ice and Fire, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen were always destined to meet and fall in love - but those elements can't coexist for two long.

Daenerys Targaryen

“This show is my life,” Emilia Clarke says. “Any doors that are open now, this show opened them. Any major life choice I’ve made have been a reaction to this show.”

Dany's story came to a tragic end, and even though Emilia Clarke has admitted to being shocked and upset by her character's fate, it sounds like she's since come to terms with how things played out.

“This show is my life,” Clarke says. “Any doors that are open now, this show opened them. Any major life choice I’ve made have been a reaction to this show.”

Aegon Targaryen

“This gives me the freedom to try things I want to do,” Kit Harington says. “I keep nicking beers from David and Dan’s fridge. I left them a note saying, ‘I owe you two beers and one career,’ and that’s how I feel.”

Even though nobody referred to him as Aegon Targaryen after the truth came out, that is Jon's real name. Think he'll begin calling himself that up north? Us neither.

Tyrion Lannister

“I will miss this so much,” Peter Dinklage says. “It’s the greatest role I’ve ever had.”

Tyrion found his head on the chopping block yet again in the season finale after freeing Jaime and renouncing his Queen, but in the end he was able to get away with being Hand to King Bran the Broken. Not a bad gig when you have a few friends on the Small Council!

I will miss this so much,” Peter Dinklage told EW. “It’s the greatest role I’ve ever had.”

Sansa Stark

“On one of my last days on set, I had a moment where I was walking in my Sansa costume onto the grounds of Winterfell thinking, ‘This is one of the last times I will be here as Sansa in my home’ and it was this emotionally powerful moment,” Sophie Turner says.

Sansa was put through the ringer on Game of Thrones, but the resilient eldest daughter of Ned Stark managed to defy the odds wound up being crowned Queen of the North.

Sansa And Arya

Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams on the King’s Landing set.

The Stark sisters didn't get along as kids, but they grew much closer after surviving through a multitude of horrendous events that led them both home to Winterfell.

Arya Stark

“There are loads of stories I want to tell,” Maisie Williams says. “There are loads of stories I want to play.”

Somewhat predictably, Arya decided to go off on her own at the end of the season finale. Many fans would love to see the continuing adventures of the Dread Pirate Arya someday, but it sounds like the actress that plays her has other things on her mind.

“There are loads of stories I want to tell,” Maisie Williams says. “There are loads of stories I want to play.”

Bran Stark

The Three-Eyed Raven

Who has a better story than Bran Stark? Well, probably quite a few people - but there's no denying that the youngest (surviving) Stark boy had a very unique journey. He is also the best candidate to be King when you think about it... even if he's not the most interesting one!

Admittedly, I only started watching GOT back in November so I've not ridden as long as everyone else but I did really like the series a lot. I didn't hate the last season but it did feel rushed and underwhelming in parts. Still, its not often that we can go this deep with characters this interesting played by actors this talented.
Id definitely like to revisit them if we are all lucky enough to read GRR Martins conclusion to the books!

- I was really impressed with Jon managing to look sad for the whole trip up North until reuniting with Ghost, as if he hadn't gotten the exact ending what he wanted all along. XD

- I disliked the king choosing scene, mainly because things should not have gone smoothly after Sansa declared independence and leaving her allied kingdoms (the Vale and Riverlands) out to dry after sacrificing just as much for the cause, and more in her uncle's case. For such a slow paced episode, it really seemed hurried to finish that hugely important scene (1 of the most important scenes of the whole series).

Someone needs to start a "Khaleesi's BBQ" chain restaurant.
