Pretty much like it was called - everybody took a share in the blame pie on this one! I say until this thing gets resolved..."Screw 'em BOTH!"

Well if I'm understanding this correctly it seems that Warner Bros. knew that Fox had some kind of claim to the rights of this movie before they even started pre-production, based on this statement alone:

"In particular, Warner Brothers exercised its option to acquire Gordon’s rights AFTER being placed on notice of Fox’s claim and having received the documentation upon which this Court bases its ruling."

If Warner Bros. went ahead with acquiring Gordon's rights and making the movie after knowing that, I'd say Warner Bros. is to blame for the delay and problems on this one. If they had documentation stating that Fox had a stake in the movie, WB never should have proceeded without resolving that first. Although I'm sure they had some lawyer telling them not to worry about it. Blame the lawyers lol:)

I suppose when you boil it all down, it looks like Gordon was trying to play silly buggers.

i don't get how they could acquire rights from gordon, when it seems he never had the rights, so how could Gordon have gave the rights to Warner Bros. When he didn't have them, wouldn't fox have known about this and stepped in, damn they piss me off b/c they obviously knew about this the whole time and were just biding time until the movie was finished so they could get in on the cut b/c they've got some flops on their hands.

I agree with Fartman. Just wanna watch it. Maybe Fox will smarten up a bit and release it tomorrow. That'd make us fans happy as a fat kid in a chocolate factor.... like in that movie...with Johnny Depp...poor fat kid...

Is it just me, or does anyone else get the impression that this was all planned by Warner Bros?
I mean, this is a BILLION dollar industry, and oops... We "forgot" to secure our rights to this million dollar investment?!
I don't think so.
I'm not buying it... I think it was all planned from the get-go to generate more publicity for the movie, and the exec's at Warner's thought that it settle out of court quickly, and they would reap the benefits.
Maybe it's just me, I don't know.

Well it could be part of the "viral campaign" so many movies are using these days. Although, if it is, when they reveal the truth everyone will hate them for lying, I mean boycotting, letter writing campaigns. And Gordon would be really pissed, from what I understand he is shown as a scammer, selling what he didn't have. If it's not viral campaign and it was premeditated, WB execs are bigger assholes than I had originally thought.

Although for billion dollar industries, huge mistakes are made more often than what most people think, just look at what happened to Microsoft with their Zunes on december 31st 2008 and with the X-Box 360 design (more suitable for an electric oven than for a gaming console), Spores malware install and pop up ads that EA gave their costumers.

i think it would have been quite obvious to the judge that i fFOX werent just looking for a qiuck payday, they would have jumped on the case the minute the movie had announced it was going to be made. Jesus, are they slow or what?!
