Dominic Cooper On Returning As 'Howard Stark' In Marvel's Potential AGENT CARTER TV Series

While adding some legitimacy to the potential Marvel series being an actuality, Captain America 'Howard Stark' actor Dominic Cooper says he wouldn't hesitate appearing in the Agent Carter show.

Though Marvel has yet to green-light the TV series based on Hayley Atwell's character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Agent Peggy Carter getting
her own post-World War II story on the small-screen is a definite possibility. Which is why Zap2it asked English actor Dominic Cooper, who played Howard Stark alongside Atwell in Captain America and in the Agent Carter Marvel one-shot, whether he'd be up for reprising his role on the show. "I would like to do any way possible that Howard Stark can make a return," Cooper replied. "He's such a fun character to play, and I really believe that he could make quite an exciting character to watch more of. The flawed entrepreneur, the kind of crazy playboy, from that era is an exciting concept. I saw Hayley recently, and I think that the 'Carter' thing is possibly going to happen, so yeah. I'd love to. I wouldn't hesitate." The actor stated last year that he would appear as Howard Stark in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but it seems he mistook the Marvel sequel for the Agent Carter short film which featured on the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray. Anyhow, Cooper reassures that'd he be open to playing the character on the small-screen although he's never committed to a TV series before. "It depends how those things play out," he says. "You never know. And Marvel, they have such an incredible way of changing the format or how it's going to be seen or how your character could return, so I would just like that character to return because I know now that 'Captain America' has moved on and has moved into the present. It's very hard to work a way in which he should be in the current films, but you never know. There's always talk of how [to bring him back], and I know I'd be very much up for playing him again." What do you think?

No matter who's in it, Hayley Atwell's naughty pillows will steal the show.

No Agent Carter show.

It's just one character. S.H.I.E.L.D is enough.

Captain America's girl is the star & it takes place in 1940's. what can you possibly do? There are tons of stories yes, but it wouldn't work. Just war based events.

This show could actually be really good, I would love to see them fight Hydra on weekly basis.

Let's just hope there's not "fondue"-ing between him and Carter. Would disrespect Cap.

I would love a War Machine show.

Hell, I think Hawkeye should get one. He isn't getting a movie anytime soon.

It might not be this guys fault that he has nowhere near the presence and charisma of John Slattery's Howard Stark. They obviously told him to play it like a teen version of Downey's Tony Stark. But far less memorable.

I have a feeling Jack Huston will take over for Robert Downey Jr. when the time comes.

an agent carter show would be the bomb!!! ..... if they can make the right connections. they could bring in dum dum dugan. maybe if they can get someone to play a young Nick fury, or maybe jack fury they can do the howling commandos, and then maybe (if they do nick fury) have they occasional showing of the winter soldier and show how fury got the eye patch

I think Agent Carter could bring a lot of MCU histories together. It can be assumed that (as with every show ever) they would give her a love interest and the most obvious candidate would be Mr. Stark. Hell we don't even really know who Tony's mom was, wouldn't it be nuts if Cap was Iron Man's mom's ex? Sure it wouldn't add much to the storyline, but could be a funny interaction. But unlike Agents of SHIELD this show wouldn't have to hinge so much on whats currently happening in the MCU. We can see a young Nick Fury, bring back Dum Dum, maybe even show Hank Pym, if Wright decides to go with Lang. The possibilities are endless.

thats perfect. if it wasn't for the deleted scene on the avengers and peggy being in cap 2 then they maybe could've had her as his mom. just fix a few continuity issues

With AOS having such a tough time, I think they should just do it like American Horror Story and do different storylines with different casts each season. This season of AOS wraps up the Coulson storyline, next season focuses on Agent Carter, maybe later a season focuses on Black Widow and Hawkeye's pasts. It'd be an easy way to push the "reset" button on this season of AOS without admitting they may have messed up.

I mean the chances of Renner and Johannson doing TV is pretty slim, but even a mini-series would work. I personally think networks should be focusing on more hour long 10-13 episode shows anyways, like AMC, HBO, etc. 22 hours lends itself to a lot of filler crap.

@Derryberry60 Tony Stark's mother is named Maria Stark in both comics and her name is mentioned in Iron Man 2

Ehhh... no. I mean if they made it a 50's version of Alias and made it cool I suppose I might watch but... I'd rather have them do another character.

Dominic Cooper is awesome as Howard Stark. Guy oozes charm.

@batz Lol! I agree with you. And her lovelies would be the best pillows, because I know would sleep very well resting my head on them. ;P

@MAC Where have you been? People love Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter. She is one of the best(if not thee best) female characters in the MCU.

There is an audience for an Agent Carter series.

I actually finally watched the Agent Carter one shot today, and would be totally down for a tv show like that, especially with Howard and Dum Dum as well.

I'm okay with Agents of SHIELD, but this show could actually be kinda interesting.

Loved this guy as howard and haley as agent carter but I dont think this show is necessary. I would rather have a story arc in AOS that involves flash back episodes.
