The vast majority of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans enjoyed Adrianne Palicki's Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird, who joined the team at the beginning of season 2 as an undercover Hydra agent. Unfortunately, she was written out of the ABC series in the back half of season 3 when the network decided to move forward with Marvel's Most Wanted, a Mockingbird and Lance Hunter led spinoff which never moved past the pilot stage.
Now, the actress has reflected on the show and shed some more light on what she describes as a spinoff that would have been "a little darker [and] grittier."
"I saw the pilot. It was actually really, really good. We were mercenaries," she said, referring to Bobbi and Nick Blood's Lance Hunter. "It’s kind of an extension of what we were dealing with before, where we, like, ended up trying to get married again and all hell breaks loose because people are after us. Ultimately it’s us just kind of fighting for our lives."
As for whether or not we'll see Mockingbird in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. again, Palicki revealed that she's the one waiting to hear from Marvel! "Listen, if they ask me to come back, I would absolutely come back. I was like, 'Nick [Blood] came back [for a Season 5 episode] — what the hell, guys?'"
