Agent Melinda May, R.I.P?

The December 1st episode of Agents of Shield is titled "Closure" and it has an obvious focus on Grant Ward. Ward has a focus on getting revenge against SHIELD, and even, on Phil Coulson. What would hurt Coulson more than removing his Right hand too?

First let me say that I love the Melinda May character, she is on the list of 3 women with whom my wife would not leave me alone with, but after seeing the preview, for the next Agents of SHIELD episode to air,  I think it is clear that my lady, May, is in trouble.

In the trailer we see Coulson in a state of mind that we have not seen him before. We see him holding Hunter by the throat and angrily telling Hunter that he had given him the job of taking out Ward and he had missed. Now what could have Coulson in such a state? What could cause him to hurt so badly that he goes after Ward himself? I think the answer is tied to the statement to Hunter. Hunter has missed his target and that has cost him something dear. A very high cost.

At first I thought it may have been Rosalind, but I don't think that the response would be so strong. We know that Coulson cares for May and considers her his right hand. We know that Ward really wants to hurt the head of SHIELD and if he can't take out Coulson the next best thing would be, the woman who got him to kill agent 33.

Now I could be completely wrong but there is one more thing. May is nowhere to be seen in that trailer. I don't want it to be true, but I think May will be seriously injured or killed by Ward and that will prompt Coulson to go after him, himself.

What are your thoughts on what drives Coulson to take the point on getting Ward?

Interesting thoughts. I think it makes sense and it does appear that Phil is really pissed at Hunter. That being said, there is no way that they are getting rid of May, certainly not this early, if at all.
The writers just went through a set up of May and Lash, they are setting up a feud with May and Ward, that is why Ward wants to unleash Lash, to hurt may, no way they kill her off.

The true victim would seem to be Ros, and Phil does have feelings for her, so he is telling Hunter that if he hadn't missed Ros would still be alive. I like her and the playfulness between Ros and Phil, so I hope we are both wrong.

Oh, is it customary for the first person on an article to sat "First"? I have never been first and I would not want to break a tradition.

I hope Ros sticks around she brings something new to table and there is a power dynamic between her and Phil

I like Rosalind also, I think she adds something to the show, playing off of Coulson, but something has Coulson all fired up and the lose of May would do that. what else could get Coulson back in the field?

That would be nuts, I would be upset but impressed with the move; it's bold.

I am actually expecting May to die, not in 9th episode, but in mid-season.

Maybe something happened to Rosiland, but this the character I don't want to see dying. I was glad that she didn't turned out evil Hydra. She adds a lot to this show, her dynamics with Coulson, and Daisy were great.

And this Assassin's Creed type Templars vs Assassins story since ancient times, sounds awesome.

That's an interesting theory. I'm not sure they would do that, but a Whedon is in charge, so anything is possible. It would be a really ballsy move, though.

I just watched the clip again and the writer is correct, May is not in the clip, but neither is Rosalind. Something has pissed Coulson off and he is taking out on Hunter.
I think that he is right about someone getting hurt but May is not going to die and I hope Rosalind doesn't die either. I am not one of those people who think that someone has to die to add some dramatic stakes to the season. I hope no one dies, well made Ward.
