AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2, Episode 2 Marks New Ratings Low In Series' History
Things aren't looking good for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.! The season two premiere clearly failed to hook viewers due to the fact that last night's episode marked an all-time series low in terms of ratings. Could cancellation be looming for Marvel's first live-action TV show?
When Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returned last week, ratings were roughly the same as they were when season one came to an end earlier this year. That wasn't a great result, but not too terrible either. This week? Well, things aren't looking good for Marvel's first foray into live-action television. "Heavy is the Head" managed a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demo and scored only 4.54 milion viewers, an all-time series low for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Though DVR numbers will help, the series just isn't attracting viewers for its live broadcasts...are people just not interested enough to watch live or is it that they just can't stand literally the most annoying live Tweet-along ever from Marvel and the cast? Regardless, what's notable about these numbers is that the show suffered a huge drop from the 5.98 million viewers who tuned in last week and this is the first time the show has attracted less than 5 million for any episode. Is cancellation beckoning? Not necessarily, but season three seems unlikely! Marvel have gone from strength to strength in theatres, but is this their first failure?
