Clark Gregg Indicates Marvel's AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Will End After Season 7
It appears that seventh season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be the show's last, according to recent comments made by Clark Gregg while promoting Captain Marvel. Hit the jump for details...
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been a constant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the beginning of Phase Two, spinning off from the events in The Avengers and, since then, it has referenced and incorporated elements from various films, most notably Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.
Several years later, the fan-favorite series is still running strong, with the show's sixth season set to debut in May and production on season seven currently underway. However, according to star Clark Gregg, the show's seventh season may very well turn out to be its last.
During an interview with KTLA5 on Monday, on the Captain Marvel press tour, Gregg reflected on his role as Phil Coulson and how it's progressed throughout the first decade of the MCU, saying: “Here I am, eleven years later. We just started shooting the seventh, and final season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D in Culver City, and it’s been an incredible ride.”

Gregg's comments about the seventh season do seem to hold a sense of finality for the series, though its important to note that the S.H.I.E.L.D. cast thought the show would end after Season 5, only for the series to get renewed an additional two seasons. Perhaps Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will continue on a different platform but, if Season 7 is indeed the last, it will have been one hell of a run.
