CLOAK & DAGGER Try To Find Answers In New Promo & Photos For Season 1, Episode 4: "Call/Response"

Tandy and Tyrone were brought closer than ever at the end of tonight's episode of Cloak & Dagger, and next week the duo will test their abilities and try to find answers to their most pressing questions...

After a car accident briefly brought Tandy and Tyrone together, tonight's episode saw the two experience some strange visions that allowed them to experience each other’s hopes and fears. While they weren’t in physical contact with each other for these visions, the moment allowed Tyrone to find the elusive Tandy.

Now, a newly released promo for next week’s episode of Cloak & Dagger reveals that the two may finally be sticking together for a bit, as they attempt to learn more about how their powers work. However, it doesn’t look like their quest to find answers will be an easy one.

Meanwhile, it looks like Tyrone’s father Otis will be getting into some trouble—though he does appear unusually calm for someone with a blade to his neck.

Oh, and is that Tyrone’s famous cloak at the end there?

i love how the darkness always seems to come from underneath his clothes, the same as if it was a cloak

but cool to see that he is already looking at a full on cloak

Okay....i's got some clunky dialogue here and there but I'm seriously falling in love with this show so far

@PeterDarker121 - Yeah, a voodoo auntie reading tarot cards shouldn't be talking about concussions. Try: "Get smacked in the head real good."

Better with each episode. This show is really good.

Good third episode - I like the duality viewpoint the series has had so far, showing the perspectives of both Tandy and Tyrone.
The backdrop of New Orleans was more prominent this episode, emphasising possibly why the city its self was chosen as the Cloak and Dagger setting. Spirituality intertwining, Catholicism and Voodoo (dark and light?) seeping into the storyline, which most likely wouldn't work as well in any other city.

@hummingbird68 - hadnt picked up on that. nice catch

@lemric - The mixture of Catholicism and Voodoo (Vodon, Vodoun, Vodou, Voudou) is very interesting - both have historically had dark and light themes associated with them. The series is really playing with duality all the time -

male/female
dark skinned/light skinned
rich/poor

Really looking forward to seeing where this is going to go. I'm enjoying the slow burn as we get to know the main characters and watch them begin to understand one another.

@hummingbird68 - Also:

Hopes / Fears
Sickness / Healing
Running Toward / Running Away

I mean, a lot of that's built into the comics and it's good to see it play out on the screen. But I'm just a simple guy who wants to see Olivia Holt burst from a shadowy void with Aubrey Joseph's face on it and start stabbing some dudes with light daggers.

Those dream sequences (especially with Tyrone and the cops) were some of the dopest things I've seen on TV in a while...seriously

And Kudos to this show for making me give a crap about Roxxon again

@PeterDarker121 - Roxxon, the only constant in the entire MCU.

So how is it? On par with the silly arrowverse stuff, or a teen drama thing? Or is it as bad as that Shadowhunters garbage the network put out?

I'll watch the first ep at some point, but I honestly am not expecting much from this channel
SoBeKing
SoBeKing - 6/14/2018, 9:42 PM
@Pathogen - The show is actually really good! If we're comparing it to current "superhero" tv shows it's honestly closest in line with the better half of the marvel netflix shows. Not cheesy like CW shows, pretty gritty and mature. First episode features death, drugs, and even rape. Give it a shot.
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 6/14/2018, 9:43 PM
@Pathogen - Imagine Jeph Loeb saw Legion and said: "We can do that, right?"

Except they didn't have Noah Hawley's immense sense of style, but they followed through on a level of grit and compelling characters on par with the Netflix shows.

So, I'm digging it a lot. If you're positively phobic of teen drama, then maybe you'll have an allergic reaction, but there's basically no melodrama. These characters have pretty serious problems and they're approaching it pretty much like human beings would, not soap opera characters.

I just want to give these two a big hug. And then I would back away slowly, so they realize they're hugging each other. And then I would smile knowingly, and they would... you know maybe I'll take this to AO3...

Hopefully next episode we'll finally get less Cloak or Dagger and get a whole lot more and.

I'm really feeling this cast, too. Holt is a beautiful mess and Joseph is really towing that right balance of frustrated passivity that I always think of with Tyrone. It's maybe too early to say it because neither has delivered that perfect character moment yet, and I'm afraid to considering how young the actors are but... I'm considering ranking them up there with Cox and Bernthal.

Like, I'm one more really great scene away from it for either of them.
