DAREDEVIL Actor Vincent D'Onofrio Assures Fans The Show Will Not Be Cancelled

Off the cancellations of both IRON FIST and LUKE CAGE, the future is worrisome for the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. Thankfully, Fisk himself had a blunt answer regarding the show's potential cancellation.

Let's get this out of the way - Daredevil Season 3 is the best, if not one of the best seasons of superhero television to ever grace the small screen. From the writing, to the character arcs, to the stellar new supporting characters, showrunner Erik Oleson and the crew have constructed a season for the ages. But after the back to back cancellations of Iron Fist and Luke Cage, is the man without fear safe? With strong acclaim from critics and fans a like, we very much hope so.

With reports displaying the decline of social media discussions surrounding the Marvel-Netflix series, in addition to Netflix's push to drop any co-productions from the originals slate, fans have been panicking. The stellar quality of Daredevil's latest season is only making thier anxiety worse, taking to social media to express their worry for the show's cancellation. But in a pleasant turn of events, Vincent D'Onofrio outright denied these claims:

There you have it folks. Even though this is not an official confirmation, it looks as if we are getting another round. Though the latest season did tie up many loose ends, and could be a fitting ending for Matt's journey, there is still much to be told. And if that final tease is any indication, we better be getting a Season 4.

Finished S3 early hours this morning and HOT DAMN what an incredible show! If there is another season I’ll be over the moon.

Also, I’m happy with where LC finished in S2 but I would have liked to see IF S3.

I'd love to see a nod to him in Far From Home. A namedrop of Fisk while the Vulture is shown in prison would work wonders, and I think it'd be small enough to not affect either story. My two cents...

@tripttwe - I really just want Fisk to be the villain in SM3 (it’s so weird to type that and not mean the Raimi film lol)...

My fanboy thinking is that Fisk was involved with Ben’s death and Peter decides that he should look into it. Maybe Electro could be Fisk’s bodyguard like in the Ultimate comics. Peter gets his ass handed to him and is then trained by Daredevil to be a better hero (fighting, planning your actions, etc.). IMAGINE THIS IN LIVE ACTION

@DaHyro - Charlie Cox DESERVES an MCU movie as Daredevil. The general audience, those who have never seen Daredevil, will fall in love all over again.

Unfortunately, the clock is ticking...

Netflix to the fans of Luke Cage and Iron Fist after the cancellations:

“I’m sorry that must have been really hard”

I would be interested to see what’s going on at Netflix right now. I kinda feel like Marvel and Netflix had huge plans for the future — they were going to introduce tons of characters, and stories — but they all went belly-up when Iron Fist and The Defenders “flopped”. Both shows were pretty meh.

And it probably doesn’t help that Disney is full steam ahead on their own streaming service. I imagine the Mouse house is eager to cut anything that won’t exist under their streaming umbrella.

I do hope that Daredevil continues, or at the very least Kingpin. D’Onofrio owns the character. I would love to see someone at Marvel, or SONY, grow some balls and put him in a movie. But I’m wondering if D’Onofrio’s “cutting off an associate’s head with a car door” Kingpin would work in a PG-13, family friendly Spidey movie.

@santoanderson - I think it could totally work. Wolverine was freaking BRUTAL in all those PG-13 films before Logan. They could show Fisk’s violent side and also have him be threatening, imo.

Vulture was already intimidating and he was... well, the Vulture. Imagine what the MCU films could do with Fisk

@santoanderson - I enjoyed what he did with the Kingpin character in season 1,but kinda felt like he wasn't all that accurate. This season, he truly became Kingpin. I absolutely loved it. This was definitely my favorite season of Marvel Netflix.

@santoanderson - Bullseye was awesome too. For me, the only part of the season that dragged for me was the half episode of Karen Page flashback. I get why they did it, but I just didn't care.

I think Netflix spent all the Disney budget, so there's no way to continue any MCU show.

We don't say his name.

But if they do renew it, Erik Oleson has to come back. Dude knocked it out of the park in every single aspect.

Well, the show has accomplished its goals. It is entertaining and the general consensus is that it is still the best show by far. I expected no less. The Punisher is very good too.

I just hope JJ goes back to S1 and forget about the bad episodes in S2.

Hopefully Fiege reboots Cage and Fist into a Power Man and Iron Fist buddy cop sometime down the line with new actors. The Netflix versions of both were trash and they aren't comic accurate at all. They never should've been on this gritty adult platform to being with. Anybody who's read classic PMIF knows they would fit the movie tone 100% better.
