DAREDEVIL: Is Punisher vs Daredevil The Focus Of Season 2?

A new rumor states that a Daredevil showrunner is referring to the second season of the Marvel|Netflix superhero drama as Punisher vs Daredevil. Will Frank Castle be the big-bad Matt Murdock faces in his second adventure?

'Daredevil vs Punisher' is the rumored focus of Daredevil S2

With Jon Bernthal confirmed to portray Frank Castle aka The Punisher in season 2 of Netflix's Daredevil, most fans assumed it would be for a guest arc lasting just a few episodes (similar to Stick in season one).  However, a new report from Nerdist, states that their sources are hearing that co-showrunner Marco Ramirez is summing up the second season as "Punisher vs Daredevil".  Could that mean that Frank Castle will have a more prominent role than just a guest arc and that he's actually the primary antagonist?

Elektra and Bullseye are pretty much confirmed to appear next season thanks to leaked audition tapes so perhaps it's not the traditional adversarial relationship between Punisher and Daredevil?  It's more likely that Castle and Murdock will be going after the same target (perhaps Bullseye, Elektra or both) and their methodologies in pursuing said target put them at odds with one another.  This is typically how most of their confrontations have played out in the analogs of Marvel Comics history.

Netflix has confirmed that Daredevil's sophomore season will stream in 2016.

I assumed he'd be something for the entire season, not just a few episodes. He'll obviously be very prominent in the season.

Frank consistently made DD his bitch in the comics. It'll probably have another big villain that Big Pun and DD have to team up to take down at the end. I just want this scene recreated.

It would a lot sense if they had carefully laid out a plan through all four series leading to Defenders but then because of the success of Season 1 decided to shoehorn this second season in and make it more self-contained with less to do with the war and the Hand.

It seems like Batman v Superman started an interesting trend in the Superhero world.

I know Gusto isn't against a blind man getting assaulted. His favorite is Hal "High On An Eight Ball" Jordan.

Kingpin will still be running things from prison, with help from Vanessa on the outside. He'll hire assassins to kill DD, leading to the introduction of Elektra and Bullseye into the series.

C'mon get Jason Statham for Bullseye and Sofia Boutella for Elektra and we'll have the definitive comic book tv series.

Think this- Electra and bullseye are hired by the kingpin as assassins for daredevil and daredevil and Electra fall for each other since they knew each other back in college. The punisher is seeking to take out kingpins henchmen and daredevil wants to apprehend them to the law. Punisher tries to kill Electra daredevil stops it. Badly injured bullseye attacks daredevil and Electra double crosses him to save Matt. Then bullseye kills Electra and leaves daredevil for dead. Last episode daredevil and punisher team up to stop bullseye from breaking kingpin out of jail. Vowing not to kill them punisher stops the break and daredevil takes down bullseye once and for all

Sting, Matt pisses himself and Frank, upon seeing said urine and tears running down his eyes (which are obviously merely for show now), decides to let him go out of mercy and pity. Because the Punisher is the most stand up guy in the Marvel universe.

@mancalledsting

LMAO. Frank gave him an empty gun. He just wanted to prove that he could make DD kill him if he thought it was the right thing to do. You should check out Ennis' run on Punisher if you get the chance. So [frick]ing good.

@ManCalledSting: The Flash is too childish for me,i'm too old for this thing,Daredevil is more mature, also I prefer a more complex character like Daredevil than a Flash.

Also D'Onofrio is outstanding.

Daredevil then offers to give the Punisher a certain sexual favor that requires putting stress on the knees, but Frank's like "Nah man...come on, me and Microchip are going to In-and-Out. You're welcome to join us."

I knew it was only a matter of time before we had someone claim that BvS started the cinematic heroes vs heroes trend. Lol. Reaching.

I doubt it will all be about DD vs Pun, but I hope we see Castle in action a lot!
Of course they will prob introduce Punisher by having him hunt down DD and towards the end of season 2 they will be working together to stop Bullseye / Kingpin / fill in the blank with DD Punisher villain.

I still think that Steel Serpent working with an army of the Hand is the main threat in the Netflix shows. Madame Gao said at the end of DD she was going home and it "significantly further" away than China, so I think she meant K'un-Lun. She was moving Steel Serpent's dope until DD screwed it all up, so she had to go report to the boss.

That's a great issue, too. Frank runs Wolverine over with a steam roller after shooting him in the dick.
