Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Addresses Possibility Of MCU TV Shows On Disney+ Getting Multiple Seasons

Talking during the global press conference for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige explained their approach to whether these Disney+ TV shows will get multiple seasons.

While it's been widely reported that Loki will receive two seasons on Disney+, most of the shows coming to the streaming service appear to be one-and-done. That makes sense if they're setting up future big screen stories, but it would be strange for characters like Moon Knight and She-Hulk to get their own shows and then just become supporting players in the movie franchises of other heroes.

During today's global press conference for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige elaborated on how they're approaching the stories which play out on television.

"It’s a funny question and one we get asked much more in television because people expect it to be like we know [beforehand]," Feige explained. "We really did approach it like we do the movies which is 'We better make this great or we won’t be able to do another one.'"

"If we were able to do another one, there’s certainly ideas," he said of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier's future. "The slight difference of course is, as you’ve all heard me say and is becoming clear with WandaVision, they really will go back and forth between Disney+ series and Marvel Studios features. So where characters show up and how will sometimes be in a direct season two, will sometimes be into a feature and then an additional season, we’re just not going to say who does what right this second."

The MCU playing out on an episodic basis is definitely something new for Marvel Studios, so it's no great surprise that they're taking a "wait-and-see" approach to where things go after initial seasons. Something like WandaVision is clearly standalone in nature, but The Falcon and The Winter Soldier could quite easily transform into Captain America and Bucky for a possible second season!

Before getting too ahead of ourselves, though, we'll have to see how this story plays out.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier premieres on Disney+ this Friday, March 19th!

I feel like this is the best place to delve into the X-Men. Episodic then motion pictures.

@JonAwesome - I think X-men should be a movie but Wolverine should be a show

Guess no Wandavision season 2. Was really hoping for a thick of it/it crowd/musical hex setting.

Honestly, miniseries is probably the right way to go. It makes it easier to jump to different stories without the confusion of where certain seasons fit in the larger timeline.

That being said, I would really like to see another Vision centric story weather that be in movie or tv form.

I think the approach is best as miniseries between movies. Wandavision doesn't need a second season and it's best to just prevent one show going on too long.

I can’t see WandaVision going for another season, it just seems like that unique take they took on the show can only worked once.

But I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing multiple seasons of Moon Knight and Falcon/Winter Soldier

I know i said from day one that Wandavision getting more than 1 season was something i couldn't see happenin, cause it required specific set of...erm, "needs" which still seems like that to me but...i dunno...if y'all are ok with a "remix" than why the hell not, ey?

I'll feature Wanda and Vision, but everything else, sitcom gimmick included, would change...and change a lot.

I reckon, that's one way to get a S2. :3

@Doomsday8888 - I still say that if S2 isn't Mojovision then Disney is just leaving money on the table.
