THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER Could Revolve Around The Heroes Facing A Viral Threat

If a new rumour is to be believed, the new Captain America's (Anthony Mackie) first mission will revolve around a viral threat which sounds an awful like the Madbomb from the comics. Read on for details...

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has started shooting, and now some possible plot details have been revealed about what we should expect from the Disney+ series. Apparently, the titular heroes will have to deal with a viral threat of some sort, and common sense says it's probably the Madbomb!

In the comic books, that device was used by various bad guys to turn the general public into an unhinged, mindless mob hell-bent on destruction and violence.

Biological weapons have been referenced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the past and the Russo Brothers once considered including the Madbomb in Captain America: Civil War. It's now entirley possible that Marvel Studios could end up using those ideas for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier

While Baron Zemo's plot to destroy The Avengers mostly succeeded, him now going one step further by turning into a full-blown bad guy does make sense, and he could easily be behind something like this. It's worth noting that the Madbomb concept hasn't been confirmed for the series and all we know is that it's a viral threat; looking to the source material, though, what else could it be?

As always, we'll keep you guys updated as we learn more.

Here, we see Iron Man and Black Widow travelling back in time and, as you can see, it appears as if they were going to be "dusted" in a similar way to those who died in Avengers: Infinity War

It's a pretty chilling effect but one that would have effectively shown how the heroes were basically broken down to their molecules before arriving wherever they were meant to go in the past.

This is a very different time-travel machine to the one we saw in the movie itself and much smaller. As a result, it would have taken an awful lot of trips for the team to go back and forth in time!

More dusting effects, this wouldn't not have been a bad take on the time-travel machine but an argument could definitely be made that the one we ended up getting looked just a little bit cooler.

This scene didn't make it into the final cut but was featured in the trailers. Apparently, it was meant to show Black Widow training while living in The Avengers Compound but wasn't needed.

This is the hangar in The Avengers Compound and obviously a lot more expansive than the version that ended up in the movie. It would have been cool seeing all those different vehicles, though!

These designs show Clint Barton/Ronin in Japan and offer some insights into how the setting of his first appearance in Avengers: Endgame was dreamed up. The use of neon is very eye-catching.

It seems as if we were once going to head even further back in time in New York City. It's hard to say why Earth's Mightiest Heroes would have travelled there but this would have been fun to see.

This is obviously Fort Leigh, the location Steve Rogers and Tony Stark travel to in order to track down the Tesseract. Little did they know that they would cross paths with Howard Stark here!

Scott Lang finds himself back in the present day and the world has obviously changed in the short amount of time he was in the Quantum Realm. More imagery like this would have been great.

If only has was that cheap these days, eh? These shots were no doubt used to establish what the periods the team would travel back in time to would look like and are all both really well put together.

Tony Stark's apartment can now be rented out for a crazy sum on Airbnb, while these images of the monuments erected for those who had died are obviously very striking and extremely haunting.

Zemo targeting innocents with a virus sounds a little bit out of character. Would make more sense for him to specifically target Sam and Buck than it would him trying to get some viral weapon.

Still excited for his return.

So it's basically going to be the original plot for Captain America 3 before Feige made them change it to Civil War. Seems like a hollow victory to be getting comic-accurate versions of Baron Zemo and Mandarin now that Steve and Tony are dead.

So Zemo is a terrorist who carries out biological attacks in USA. Interesting...

This could be part of a vindictive video.

Something similar to this ...
