The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has not disappointed during its first two weeks on Disney+. In our review of this past Friday's instalment, "The Star Spangled Man," we noted that "[the series] is the Marvel Cinematic Universe at its best with this second episode," and it seems the best is yet to come.
In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, showrunner Malcolm Spellman teased a big surprise character for the penultimate chapter.
"There are characters in our series who I would love to see partnered with like...it’s a very, very grounded character...partnered with one of the big world-shakers like Thor or someone like that. The personality is so strong, it's the episode five character. I’d love to see that character with Thor."
It's got to be Mephisto, right? Regardless of who ends up joining the title heroes in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier's fifth instalment, a separate interview with ComicBook.com saw Spellman tease some strong emotional scenes in that episode. "Hands down, five, it just gets real," he says. "And five, you're going to cry."
We're sure episodes three and four will be great, but five sounds like it will be truly off the charts. WandaVision brought many fans to tears with its emotional finale, and it seems The Falcon and The Winter Soldier may follow suit.
A new critics TV spot for the series has also been revealed - with a mention of ComicBookMovie.com - so be sure to check that out in the player below courtesy of Marvel Entertainment:
