Despite some troubling reports about Hawkeye being "indefinitely delayed," it now looks like the Marvel Studios TV show is indeed going to meet that rumoured July start date. Writers Katrina Mathewson and Tanner Bean have taken to Twitter to announce that they've joined the writers room of the Disney+ series.

They probably aren't names that'lll be instantly recognisable to you, but the duo previously served as writers and producers on the short-lived, but very well-received, Pitch (which revolved around a female pitcher who became the first woman to join the Major Leagues).

What put them on Marvel Studios' radar?

Well, they actually worked on that show alongside Hawkeye head writer and showrunner Jonathan Igla (Mad Men), so he clearly sees something special in them. Kevin Feige must have agreed, and it definitely sounds like these two are excited to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The hunt for Kate Bishop continues, but we'll hopefully have more Hawkeye news for you soon!

I assume that if this is still released next year, filming this will probably prohibit Renner from appearing in M:I 7 (and maybe 8). Which would be a shame in my opinion, because I really liked him in the franchise

@MalseMarcel - I could be very wrong but I thought I read somewhere that Renner's character died off screen and that he wasnt in Fallout cuz only IW and Endgame scheduling conflicts.. if that's true he would never be in MI7 or 8.. which is too bad cuz MI is the best action series running

"Writers Katrina Mathewson and Tanner Bean have taken to Twitter to announce that they've joined the writers room of the Disney+ series."

Since she uses the past tense (dream job they recently had), I'd say they are announcing that they are done writing the show.

Their reactions are so heartwarming, best of luck. Can't wait for Hawkeye, hope the Kate Bishop situation's cleared out soon.

Yup I get the distinct feeling this will be a show more focused on Kate given what these two have worked on previously.
