LOKI Star Owen Wilson Opens Up On That Shocking Development For Mobius In The Latest Episode - SPOILERS

There was a lot to digest after watching this Wednesday's episode of Loki, but it was the death of Mobius at the hands of Judge Renslayer that really stuck with us. Pruned from the Sacred Timeline, we're hoping there might be a way he managed to survive (the God of Mischief isn't in Hel yet), but nothing is certain in a series like this.

Talking to Marvel.com, Owen Wilson shared his reaction to the twist and spoke about the sense of betrayal that came with Mobius learning Renslayer had been keeping the truth from him.

"The relationship between Mobius and Renslayer, it's the way you might have with your boss. Or when you're back in school with the principal or someone in a position of authority and having to sort of try to charm them so you're able to pursue your projects," he explains. "That's the dynamic between Mobius and Renslayer. She sort of loses patience with Mobius and with another one of his schemes. But, I think, she also sort of enjoys that he's a little bit of a rascal."

As for Renslayer's decision to have Mobius pruned when he finally learns the truth about everyone in the TVA being Variants, Wilson pondered the wider ramifications of that moment for the TVA.

"The betrayal of Mobius by Renslayer is pretty shocking," the actor acknowledges. "And it's a little bit of a hall of mirrors within the whole series, that people aren't quite who they seem to be. In the same way that Loki, when he lands in this bizarre place called the TVA, Mobius will have sort of the same struggles. What is this organization? And is it something that is worthy of his devotion?"

There are only two episodes of Loki left, and Marvel Studios is keeping a tight lid on spoilers. In fact, they recently shared a poster that makes it clear you won't find any answers on the Sacred Timeline...

Now that I see Miss Minutes on that poster, I'm gonna assume 100% Miss Minutes is behind everything. Including the consciousness of the animatronic Time Keepers.

Anyway, I hope that the next episode kinda reverses roles between Loki and Mobius. The TVA was Mobius' playground, but a world full of Loki's is definitely more Loki's playground.

Also, now that I think about it, the Time Keepers at one point each fit one of Sam's big three. And in the end Sam was right, it's always one of those three

@bkmeijer - Miss Minutes is the Ultron Protocol... pruning one threat at a time and keeping a suit of armor around the earth. LOL

@JonC - oh yeah, I think we have a working theory here

Mobius has been far and away the best part of the series so far. Loved episode 4.

Mobius is probably (likely) my favourite Owen Wilson role.

Weird how Owen Wilson pretty much being a little more serious Owen Wilson… is Emmy worthy. But he’s killin it! I don’t think he’s done. Or at least I hope he isn’t

@TheWalkingCuban - That always seems to be the case when jokers take on a more dramatic role. I keep thinking of John Lithgow when he played the Trinity Killer.

@TanukiTrooper - I haven’t watched it but it sounds good. I remember him being the bad guy on a Denzel movie when I was little, can’t remember the name of the movie right now, but I was like isn’t that the guy from Harry and the Hendersons? And now I’m imagining Harry Potter and the Hendersons. They’d certainly treat him better than the Dursley’s… if he survives them running him over.

Since both Loki and Mobius were pruned, we saw that Loki lived through it (although was transferred somewhere else.).

So, I hope the same for Mobius, but I'll try not to get my hopes up so I won't be disappointed if he is gone for good.
