Vertical Entertainment's The Devil Below arrives in select theaters, VOD, and Digital from today, and we recently caught up with director Bradley Parker (Chernobyl Diaries) to discuss his work on the nail-biting horror movie. Starring Alicia Sanz, Adan Canto, Zach Avery, Chinaza Uche, Jesse Latourette, with Jonathan Sadowski and Will Patton, it's well worth checking out!
Bradley has a lot of other credits to his name, though, including working on Marvel's Loki as Visual Effects Supervisor.
There's a huge amount of excitement surrounding the series ahead of its June 11th debut on Disney+, and it's clear from what we've seen in the trailer that the show will deliver big screen quality visuals. Here's an excerpt from our chat with Bradley with some teases for what fans can expect:
I know better than to try and get any Loki spoilers out of you, but the visuals in that series look incredible. Can you tell us what’s it been like working on the series, and helping to take that character on what looks like a pretty crazy journey?
Well, that’s pretty much all I can say, that it is a crazy journey! That’s another project that will defy expectations in a lot of ways. It’s been so much fun. It’s been on my hit list to work on a Marvel project, and Loki is just such a great one. It’s so cool, and there are so many amazing things that are going to happen in every episode. I can’t wait for people to see it. It’s a lot of hard work. We’re working furiously to make this thing as great as possible, and I think people are going to be thrilled when they see it.
I was blown away by that shot of a destroyed New York in the trailer; it must be awesome being able to play with a huge budget like that?
Absolutely. It’s been quite good in that way. That’s a completely different creative exercise when you have more resources, but the appetite for visuals is on such a bigger scale in the visual effects aspect of things, so it’s challenging in its own right!
It sounds like Loki will be taking us on quite the ride, and that teaser only really scratched the surface of what's to come. Now a premiere date has been set, we'll likely see much more from this one soon.
Make sure to check back here next week as we'll have more from Bradley on The Batman, his interest in superhero movies, and much more on how he created the world of The Devil Below!
