The Marvel Cinematic Universe has largely shown Thor and Loki at odds, though they finally appeared to get on the same page in the closing moments of Thor: Ragnarok. Of course, the God of Mischief failed to tell his brother he'd swiped the Tesseract from Asgard and that led to his demise at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.
Loki brought the trickster back and the former villain has since embarked on quite the journey. After a full-blown redemption arc, he bid farewell to his new friends in the TVA to breathe life back into the dying Multiverse.
We're sure he'll eventually escape his fate and, when it happens, a reunion with Thor has to be on the cards, right? Talking to Screen Rant, Tom Hiddleston shared his take on what such a meeting could look like.
"It's a really good question. I think they would be very surprised by each other. In some ways, Thor and Loki have never been further apart, but they're also closer together. They've been through so much. They've been confronted by so much. They've had to endure so much and suffer so much."
"But it's curious, isn't it? It's curious if people change, if people move on, if they're brave enough to make peace with the past and acknowledge their mistakes and missteps, sometimes those closest to you find it hardest to accept that you're different, that they cling to older versions of you somehow. It would definitely be an interesting conversation."
One final meeting between Thor and Loki is a must, particularly as we're expecting both Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth to bid a final farewell to their respective roles after Avengers: Secret Wars.
In related news, Marvel Studios concept artist Jackson Sze has shared new concept art from Loki season 2 offering a closer look at God Loki's new horns. It turns out there's a good reason for them being so large!
"'Heavy is the Head that wears the Crown,'" he begins. "Loki taking on the burden of his glorious purpose was an idea the filmmakers wanted right from the start. The bigger size of his new Horns will physically weigh on him."
The God of Mischief finally has his throne, but his glorious purpose is greater than any of us - and the hero himself - could have imagined. Now, he sits at the heart of the Multiverse, holding it all together to give its denizens a fighting chance against Kang and his Variants.
