There hasn't been much news in the way of the Marvel Netflix series Luke Cage. Other than the teaser trailer and a few behind-the-scenes images, any details regarding the plot to the Netflix series have been kept secret until now. During a live video interview with Entertainment Weekly through Facebook, Mike Colter revealed a few plot details that might help us understand the direction the show is going in.

"There are politicians and then there are shady characters that function on the other side of the law," said Colter. "Who does what? I won’t say, but this becomes a situation where there are a lot of people who want to help Harlem and think they have Harlem’s best interests, but, ultimately, just because they think or say they have Harlem’s best interests, sometimes they’re being very selfish or being very short-sighted. So sometimes what they’re doing is actually harming the community."

Luke Cage has always kept a low profile when it came to using his special abilities or even revealing who he is. We caught a glimpse of Luke's heroic side in Jessica Jones, but according to Colter, Luke is giving in to the possibility of becoming a superhero. "So this is where Luke comes in because Luke is a person who likes to, he observes and he listens and he takes in to account what people tell him, and he’s a pretty smart guy himself and he understands that some peoples’ way may not be the best may not be the best in the big picture so ultimately Luke has to get involved because there are a lot of things that happen, a lot of people get hurt, a lot of lives are lost and unfortunately he’s the only one who is capable of actually helping deal with this because sometimes the law enforcement is actually not the best because they’re not aware or they’re not capable, or maybe they’re corrupt. So, without getting into too many details, Luke Cage is gonna have to step up and be the man." Are you excited to see Marvel's Luke Cage?

This is my most anticipated CB property for the rest of the year. The soundtrack featuring the likes of Nas is dope.

@BatmanHeisenberg - NY State of mind is one of those beats, as soon as I hear it, my head starts nodding. So good. And Illmatic is one of my favourite albums in its entirety to be honest.

@Fishandchips - 100%!! My favorite song of his remains "Life's a Bitch" for me, it just has so much emotion and depth, and the beat and flow is so flawless. Illmatic is simply my favorite album ever

@BatmanHeisenberg - Life's a Bitch is one of the greatest tracks ever. Even AZ kills it in that track. This album is Top 5 without question.

You listen to it now and it still feels brand new.

The golden age of Hip Hop.

@BatmanHeisenberg - did you ever catch this? Q-Tip shows DJ Premiers original beat for Memory Line and it is absolute fire

Talking of Q, even though Ali Shaheed is dope, it's a shame they don't have Q helping with the music, his production skills are insane.

Seems like this is gonna be a more PERSONAL DAREDEVIL. Where Matt loves HK and fights for it, Luke is the same with Harlem, but is more INGRAINED in the community. He's a man of the people.

He's with the kids on the street. In the community centers. Everyone knows him. Matt is known around HK as the blind lawyer who helps the weak, but Luke is a MENTOR to all. Daredevil is stops crime, but Luke is about STOPPING CRIME AND REALLY HELPING THOSE IN NEED. Visiting the wounded, mentoring the wayward. This show is about Luke becoming that man of the people.

He's the guy who's gonna walk into the drug dealers trap and say: GET THE [frick] OUT
