MOON KNIGHT Previz Video Reveals The Awesome Jackal Battle That Was Cut From The Premiere

A new previs video for Moon Knight has revealed the battle between Marc Spector and the Jackal that we didn't get to see in the episode itself. Find out how it would have played out here...

Moon Knight proved to be a fun ride for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but if there's one complaint it seemed everybody had, it's that the show didn't feature enough, well, Moon Knight.

Action scenes were few and far between until the finale, and the premiere somewhat underwhelmed by finally revealing the vigilante in its closing moments after he had already taken down an Egyptian jackal. We heard that fight scene but didn't get to see it, and a previs video has now revealed that Marvel Studios once planned to showcase Moon Knight's fighting abilities here.

The video was shared by stunt performer Jamel Blissat, and he explains that, "At the beginning, the first appearance of [Moon Knight] in the restroom was supposed to be a real fight against the jackal." It's unclear why this sequence was cut, and we don't know if it was ever shot.

Common sense says Marvel Studios probably felt the sight of Moon Knight beating that jackal and emerging from the restroom made a bigger impact than showing the entire fight scene.

So, yes, it was a shame we didn't get to see this, but far from the end of the world. As noted, the finale more than made up for any action lacking from previous episodes. Take a look at the video below and let us know your thoughts on the amount of action in Moon Knight down in the comments section.

The way the premiere ended was really good. That final turn and reveal shot.

If they had included this fight I would’ve saved it for the second episode. Have the first end with the jackal breaking down the bathroom door and the final shot a reveal of the transformation into Moon Knight. Then kick off episode two with this fight.

@GhostDog - I agree except I'd actually prefer they end the first episode as they did and then start the second episode like this. That way they have their cake and eat it too

I keep trying to tell everybody this show clearly had budget issues. A completely cgi Moon Knight fighting a completely cgi Egyptian jackal is expensive. Usually a large chunk of the budget goes into the first episode in order to “hook” the viewers and it was prevalent in this series.

@WruceBayne - I mean, that's also on them for deciding to make the suit cgi and having him fight jackal monsters. It's just a regular super suit in the comics, and he mostly fights non powered criminals. They chose to make choices that made them go over budget fast.

Just hope I can see Jake do more than pull a trigger.

I'd like to see him in the MCU's West Coast Avengers one day..... He'd be the one coming and going as he pleases, just straight up appearing and disappearing, no dialogue, no face..... Just ass kicking, great timing, and generally creeping his teammates out. Tigra would be into him tho, of course

@ProfessorWhy - and no need to contract Oscar Isaac

This show had a lot of fighting that we didn’t get to see. Most of the show I was like.

This show was terrible. I couldn't even finish it and I'm a massive Moon Knight fan.

@SirDuckAlot - The show was absolutely brilliant. Seems like if you're a massive MK fan you just had the expectation that this would be a carbon copy of the comics. But shall I remind you, the MCU is not the comics. They are original stories with original iterations of characters adapted from the comics.

This was more exciting than 95% of the entire series.
The best shots were all in the trailer and all we got was gimmicky cut-aways and Oscar Isaac doing an annoying British accent. They left too much on the table with this one.

@RaisedFisT - He did a great job with the accent. His character development with the different personalities was brilliant.
