MOON KNIGHT Concept Art Reveals An Unused Sci-fi Inspired Costume For Marc Spector/Steven Grant

Marvel Studios concept artist Jackson Sze has shared some of his early work from Moon Knight, showcasing a version of the character's costume that's a little more sci-fi than Ancient Egypt-inspired...

Moon Knight gave its title character two costumes, and while we'd hoped to see another, it appears Marvel Studios will keep us waiting on that front. When Marc Spector and Steven Grant united, they switched between the "classic" suit and Mr. Knight at will, and with Jake Lockley yet to don a costume, who knows what he'll look like.

If we had to hazard a guess, it will likely be a tactical-based outfit akin to what Moon Knight has worn in the comic books in recent years, possibly reflecting his murderous approach to protecting the travellers of the night.

For now, though, we have some concept art from Marvel Studios Visual Development Supervisor Jackson Sze revealing a sci-fi-inspired get-up that's quite a departure from what we saw in the Disney+ series. Explaining that this was from a very early stage in development, the artist says, "In retrospect, it is too sci-fi looking for the story we ended up telling. But in early development we have more leeway to explore directions."

"I had fun trying to integrate crescent shapes into the costume," he says of a suit that, for many fans, might have fit a little better into the modern aesthetic of the MCU. However, that wasn't the story Marvel Studios was looking to tell with Moon Knight, and there's always a chance we see something a little more traditional down the line.

As of right now, there's no word on whether Marc/Steven/Jake will return in a second season or movie. That cliffhanger ending certainly left the door open to more stories, anyway.

This would have been perfect if they stuck to the comic.

Hell no to both!

The one we got was perfect. Moon Knight is the best of the year so far. Mind blown🤯

@BO31 - you are aware that Moon Knight doesn't magically generate a Mummy suit, it's tactical battle ware rooted in technology he bought using his mercenary money. And Steven isn't a twitchy loser, he's a billionaire shark of a business man.

Moon Knight is nothing like his TV show, and people who think it's perfect clearly never loved or even read the comics.

@UGLYsonic - As soon as I saw the suit being summoned onto him like mummy wrappings I knew this show was going to be an uphill battle for me.

I just don't get the amount of hypocrisy. If DC or Zack Snyder changed one of their characters this much all these people would be tearing them apart. But because it's the MCU, it's "amazing".

Right off top Moon Knight is not the JL. Not near as many people heard of him. So not nearly as many would be offended by the change. Also lol @DC

@Uglysonic - even if those changes did take place...the show itself was still amazing. Epic triumph for the MCU!!

One of the most well made, rounded comic shows of all time.

@BO31 - I strongly disagree, but I'm glad you enjoyed it my friend.

@CorndogBurglar - Because Zack Snyder changed the characters AND the tory sucked. These are dynamic characters, things are changed all the time. Star Lord was drastically changed.... but his story is compelling and the changes were justified by them. Much like MK. BvS has Batman a killer a superman a depressed indidivdual.... but for no good reason other than Snyder wanting them to be edgy. and the story told with those renditions suck.

I mean, if you think about it like wakandan tech that he got after the events of black panther, I could see this being something Marc spector might wear.

But then again, they wanted to make Egyptian ghost rider as opposed to moon knight.

@Origame - lol. Egyptian Ghost Rider. This is perfect.

@Origame - I was thinking The Spectre when I watched it, but Ghost Rider’s a good analogy too!

If he really is done with Khonshu, I could see him getting a comics accurate technological suit. But we know he's not really done with Marc/Steven.

MoonKnight was great, it would be a 10/10 series if it had at least 8 episodes.

They should use the one they have and make it grey/silver like this concept art. Moon Knight costume is not white

I like the ones they went with for Marc's suit but this could either be something that like the OP said fits more Jake or the combination of the 3 personalities merging into one later on.
