Ms. Marvel proved to be a bigger game-changer for the MCU than we could have ever imagined. By [SPOILER ALERT] revealing that Kamala Khan is a mutant, the stage has finally been set for the X-Men to make their presence felt in this shared world. A post-credits scene, meanwhile, saw the teenager swap places with Captain Marvel ahead of The Marvels' release next year.
Those were two of the biggest developments in the finale, and both have somewhat overshadowed how Ms. Marvel has now mastered her powers and figured out how to "Embiggen."
This has brought the teenager's abilities more in line with her comic book counterpart, though she still uses "hard light" powers rather than physically transforming her body in any way. Now, thanks to Marvel Studios concept artist Jackson Sze, we have some artwork showing how differently those mysterious Noor powers could have looked on screen.
Yellow instead of purple, these light constructs take inspiration from video games, and would have looked pretty cool in motion. Ultimately, Marvel Studios obviously went down a different route.
Karla Ortiz, who recently shared some alternate designs for Ms. Marvel's final costume, has also revealed her take on the Captain Marvel cosplay donned by Kamala at AvengerCon. It's always fun to see what might have been, and we'll be on the lookout for more concept art like this.
Marvel Studios has yet to announce plans for a Ms. Marvel season 2, though we find it hard to believe the hero won't return to Disney+ after The Marvels.
