Work was originally moving ahead rather quickly on
Powers (the small screen adaptation of the Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming series). With a cast in place which included Jason Patric and Lucy Punch, a pilot was shot last year, but quickly rejected by FX head honcho John Landgraf. With Charles Eglee brought in for a rewrite, those cast in the series moved on to other projects and plans were put in place to start over with a new cast. That's all we've heard for a while, but now
Variety reports that the project isn't dead just yet. There aren't currently any solid details on when the network will reshoot the pilot, but it has NOT been scrapped despite recent speculation. It's hoped that Landgraf will offer a slightly more concrete update during his talk at the Television Critics Association tour this Saturday.
