Some Of THE OFFENDERS Shows Have Already Been Screened For Members Of The Creative Team

Despite the fact that Hulu and Marvel's plans for The Offenders were only just made public last week, it seems as though some people have been able to see early footage from two of these shows already...

Writer/Actor/Director/Podcaster Kevin Smith loves to announce news to his fans He usually utilizes a variety of ways to do thiis beyond just interviews, and now our most recent bit of news regarding Marvel's The Offenders actually comes from the Instagram account of the writer himself, providing an update of sorts to fans.

Smith made some big announcements and confirmations regarding his own series, Howard the Duck, including the reveal that the character's archvillain, Dr Bong, will be making an appearance. In addition, and probably most excitingly, the director also made certain to mention that he has seen tests for not just one but two of the other Offenders shows: Hit-Monkey, and M.O.D.O.K.

Smith is working on this project together with Dave Willis of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and he has described what he has seen so far of the test screenings to be "astounding, like, legit next level shit." With such comments it seems like the adult animated corner of Marvel is in excellent hands and off to a great start over at Hulu, but make sure to take a look at Smith's Instagram Post below to see what you make of it yourself!

Last week @hulu announced a deal to carry four new @marvel animated shows: #Modok, #HitMonkey, #TigraAndDazzler and #HowardTheDuck! This is fantastic news to me as a fan, but as a professional, it’s quacking me up because THEY HIRED ME TO WRITE IT! Mercifully, they hired the great #DaveWillis to write it too, so we might have a successful show! Dave and I are going Full-Gerber on Howard: Beverly, Bong and the entire cast of characters that made this fowl legend fly! I saw tests for Hit Monkey and M.O.D.O.K. already and holy duck, are they astounding! Like, legit next level shit! So Dave and I have our work cut out for us. But since Dave’s the cartoon genius behind #meatwad and the #aquateenhungerforce, Howard is in some fine feathered fingers! Thank you to #jephloeb and the #marveltelevision folks who egged me on, #hulu for the home, and #stevegerber and #valmayerik for not only an amazing character, but also the eventual job for me your work provided! I can’t spoil where we’re going, but I can tell you this: I already asked movie-Howard heroine @lea_thompson to lend us her vocal Quack Fu in a to-be-revealed-later role! And she did NOT say no! The duck versions of @jayandsilentbob come courtesy of @jeremysimser! #KevinSmith #davewillis #howardtheduckmovie #marvel

Marvel's Howard the Duck is trapped in a world he never made, but America's favorite fighting fowl hopes to return home with the help of his unstoppable gal pal Beverly before the evil Dr. Bong can turn him into the crispiest dish on the menu. Writers Kevin Smith and Dave Willis will also Executive Produce alongside Jeph Loeb.

Marvel's Hit-Monkey tells a tale of a wronged Japanese snow monkey, mentored by the ghost of an American Assassin as he cuts a wide swath through the Tokyo Underworld in this darkly cinematic and brutally funny revenge saga. Writers Josh Gordon and Will Speck will Executive Produce alongside Jeph Loeb.

Marvel's M.O.D.O.K. centers around an egomaniacal supervillain with a really big head and a really little body who struggles to maintain control of his evil organization and his demanding family. Writers Jordan Blum and Patton Oswalt will also Executive Produce alongside Jeph Loeb.

Marvel's Tigra and Dazzler Show is a story about two woke superheroes and best friends, Tigra and Dazzler, as they fight for recognition among powered people who make up the eight million stories in Los Angeles. Writers Erica Rivinoja and Chelsea Handler will also Executive Produce alongside Jeph Loeb.

Marvel's The Offenders is a story in which nobody asked them to, and we'd be better off if they didn't, but M.O.D.O.K., Dazzler, Tigra, Hit-Monkey, and Howard the Duck are all forced to team up in order to save the world and certain parts of the universe. Jeph Loeb will Executive Produce.

Given Marvel Television's involvement with the projects, it make me wonder if the Offenders shows are set in the MCU even though they're Marvel Animation series too. Howard the Duck hasn't been seen since GOTG Vol.2. So this'd give him a chance to shine in his own MCU show!!

@brodie999 - The description says "trapped in a world he never made" and that makes me think he could be aware he's a cartoon and it might be the same Howard.

@LiteraryJoe - Agreed. That'd also make him aware the MCU is fiction as part of breaking the fourth wall like Deadpool. Hey, I just posted my article. What do you think?https://www.comicbookmovie.com/marvel_studios/editorial-if-the-first-5-mcu-films-had-2-post-credits-scenes-a166584

I wish these shows were live-action instead of animated because the quality of their animated fare is incredibly low. We'll get some simplified designs that lack detail and depth paired with vector-based animation that's stiff and inexpressive.

Hit Monkey, and Howard the Duck sound good. I dont think they need to do a team-up. That's going to get old.

Are these shows for an adult audience or aimed at kids.

@marvel72 - Looks like they might be aiming for both. Some sound kiddy and some sound adult.
