So, it seems Quicksilver wasn't that big surprise character after all!
During a recent interview, WandaVision star Paul Bettany (Vision) teased a major surprise appearance from a mysterious character who would be played by an actor he's always wanted to work with. Many assumed that must be Evan Peters, but the actor has now revealed that we've yet to meet the person he was referring to.
While answering questions for Esquire, Bettany confirmed that it wasn't Peters' Pietro, and also suggested that Benedict Cumberbatch won't be dropping in as Doctor Strange (or at least, that's not the person he's talking about). He then reiterates that this actor is someone he's "longed to work with all my life."
This has led to speculation that it must be an older thesp, and since there is a decent chance their character will have some kind of connection to Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen), the prevailing theory among fans right now is that it's going to be Ian McKellen.
Of course, Erik Lehnsherr is Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver's father in the comics, so Magneto following his "son" into Westview at the behest of Wanda (or someone else) would make sense, but there are obviously countless other possibilities.
What do you guys think? Who is this mystery man - or woman - going to be? Be sure to share your theories with us in the comments, and tune in for a new episode of WandaVision on Disney+ tomorrow.
