WANDAVISION Spoiler Recap And Discussion For "Episode 7"

This week's WandaVision had a lot of talking points, and we've barely scratched the surface with our previous articles! Continue reading for a spoiler-filled breakdown of everything that happened...

WandaVision kicks off the morning after the night before, and Wanda Maximoff is all too aware that she used her powers to expand the Hex. She's also in no mood for Tommy and Billy's complaints about their video game (which has been jumping from decade to decade). However, Wanda also notices that things appear to be glitching around her, and seems genuinely concerned she's losing control of the perfect reality that she seemingly created in Westview. Back in the real world, Director Hayward and S.W.O.R.D. are regrouping, and in the Hex, Vision comes across the circus. He spots Darcy - who is an escape artist in this reality - and proceeds to restore her memories before they head off together to find Wanda. At home, she tells the twins that Pietro is not their uncle, and admits she has none of the answers.

Agnes shows up just in the nick of time to take Billy and Tommy to her house as she can see Wanda needs some time alone, but things get increasingly worse for the Scarlet Witch as she struggles to keep the house in this time period. Monica and Jimmy, meanwhile, learn that Project Cataract was meant to bring Vision back online, and nothing worked until Wanda stole his body (hence why Director Hayward is so desperate to get the android back). Monica meets with some loyal S.W.O.R.D. agents, but there's no sign of that mysterious aerospace engineer. Back in the sitcom, the interviewer listening to Wanda (Modern Family-style) speaks up and says to her, "Do you think this is maybe what you deserve?" Pretty sinister, right?

This week's commercial advertises Nexus antidepressants, and it's fair to say that this actually gives us our best idea yet of what's going on in Westview. We'll have more on that for you later, though.

Back to the action, and Agnes is hanging out with Tommy and Billy. The latter, who had been hearing voices in his head earlier, reveals that he hears nothing from the nosy neighbour. "You're quiet Agnes...on the inside." Monica's attempts to re-enter Westview in that vehicle don't go well, and the "heavily armoured space rover" is a colossal failure. Having passed through twice already, Monica runs in without protection, and hears her mother's voice. She also hears Captain Marvel's, and the anger she feels at that manages to get the S.W.O.R.D. agent through as herself. However, her eyesight is initially affected, and she sees Westview on a well, we guess you could call it a "spectrum." Vision learns of his past from Darcy, but the duo are raced by delay after delay (seemingly Wanda's doing). Ultimately, he decides just to fly home. Monica finally comes face to face with Wanda, and Rambeau finally displays some superpowers of her own. Unfortunately, just as Monica is getting through to the Avenger, Agnes arrives to usher her away.

In Agnes' house, Wanda begins feeling that all is not right, and questions where Tommy and Billy are. Her friend points her in the direction of the basement. It's overgrown and full of what looks like Satanic imagery. There's a weird book there radiating energy - we're willing to bet it's the Darkhold - and Agnes then appears, revealing herself as Agatha Harkness. She's stroking Señor Scratchy the entire time, and uses her purple-coloured powers to show Wanda that it's "been Agatha all along." That reveals how she's been manipulating events - including Pietro's return - and confirms that, yes, she killed Sparky. That's where we end things, but there is a post-credits scene you can read more about by clicking here

Agatha is the one who started the sitcoms. Wanda says “I don’t know how all this started”. Obviously, there’s a reason for what’s happening and Agatha finally got the children I wonder what she wants with Wanda now. She’s been sewing all the seeds and making the distractions.

I don’t think this means evans isn’t quicksilver but he’s definitely not Wanda’s quicksilver.

@MyCoolYoung - I’m hoping they keep him from the fox multiverse but he’s not the mcu quicksilver. He’s a puppet of Harkness.
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 2/19/2021, 2:09 AM
@PantherKing - he’s definitely a puppet but I’m wondering to what extent. Like is he a rando or was he actually plucked From the multiverse. He was obviously under her influence

PantherKing - 2/19/2021, 2:15 AM
@MyCoolYoung - Seeing drive said it leads into multiverse of madness I’m tempted to say he’s plucked from the fox universe but idk yet

@MyCoolYoung - I think he's her "husband Ralph". However that actually is idk, but he could be another character just pretending to be Pietro on Agatha's orders.

@MyCoolYoung - anyone else thinking that Heyward is “Ralph”?

@MyCoolYoung - he is not plucked from the multiverse. He is a character from town(possibly woos snitch).

@MyCoolYoung @PantherKing - I'm sticking with my initial guess that Evan Peters isn't actually the Fox version of Quicksilver, but rather Mephisto/"Ralph" in disguise.

The part where we see Agatha's purple magic coming out of Peters is a misdirection I think-- they want us to think that signifies that Peters' Quicksilver is just a puppet of Agatha, when in reality I think she's just using her magic to disguise Mephisto/"Ralph" while he retains full control
PantherKing
PantherKing - 2/19/2021, 6:41 AM
@PicolasCage - Evan Peters seems more of a puppet. If he was Ralph Agatha would not be able to control him. She basically had some kind of hex on him during Agatha all along.
PicolasCage
PicolasCage - 2/19/2021, 6:51 AM
@PantherKing - that's what I'm saying... I don't think that purple mist represented a hex, I think she was using her magic to create a disguise for him, but he was still acting of his own volition.

We'll see how it shakes out, but I think the big twist will be Peters is the real true villain of the show. They want us to think Agatha is the main baddie, but I think by the end we'll see that Peters (whatever his true form is) has been pulling the strings and Agatha is serving him, not the other way around

@thewanderer -I’ve heard it mentioned. He has to be someone though
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 2/19/2021, 7:27 AM
@PicolasCage - I didn’t think of that. I know there will be another villain though. No way Agatha is doing this by herself
PicolasCage
PicolasCage - 2/19/2021, 7:39 AM
@PantherKing - that's what I'm saying though. That purple magic emanating from Peters was just her giving him a magical disguise imo. Not her actually mind-controlling him

When Monica landed ‘superhero style’ after being ejected by Wanda...I thought they we about to throw down. And I think they will before its done.

The more I think about it, the more I think Wanda will leave this show becoming next big bad for the short term. I think the show keeps toying with us that Wanda is fragile, she’s in the middle of the tipping scales between good vs bad - suggesting one wrong move could send her over the edge completely.

And with the cast teasing the ending isn’t a happy one... I think Wanda’s gonna lose the twins, and gonna start ripping the multiverse apart looking for them.
Himura
Himura - 2/19/2021, 2:24 AM
@Se4M4NSt4ine - I think she might end up being the main villain for Doctor Strange 2. She's going crazy and madness is right there in the title.
Se4M4NSt4ine
Se4M4NSt4ine - 2/19/2021, 2:35 AM
@Himura - that’s where I was kind of going with it, she definitely doesn’t seem like she’s interested in “fitting in” anymore.

I also think Strange is gonna turn up at the end in some shape or form to highlight the threat that Wanda is becoming not only to herself, but to their reality.
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 2/19/2021, 2:47 AM
@Se4M4NSt4ine - I just want to interject that I skimmed through some of the comics that inspired this show last night, and there was a part where a dude (who lost his arms from some kind of demonic mishap) used the twins as surrogate arms, and it was legit horrifying.

So, at this point I'm not sure if I want to see Evan Peters with two ten-year-olds instead of arms, but I'm pretty sure it'd make great meme material.

@Spock0Clock - I want to see Evan Peters hauntingly run around with kids for hands now.
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 2/19/2021, 2:51 AM
@Se4M4NSt4ine - Seeing that would make me want to rip apart the multiverse, and they aren't even my kids.

Well, no real shockers this episode for folks like us who have been steeped in the speculation, but I've got to imagine the normies are going to do a double take that this has been some random witch all along.

It just struck me as unfortunate that we've kind of stumbled into the same "villain is a dark reflection of the hero" thing with it boiling down to Wanda vs. Older Evil Wanda, but the rest of the show is so weird that I don't think it hurts here.

Also, seeing so much speculation about who Monica's supplier would be just reinforced my policy of trying not to get ahead of where the show is. Introducing a big character like a Reed Richards or even Ironheart with an oblique reference to an aerospace engineer never made a ton of sense to me. We're all eager to see the super-cast grow, but I wouldn't want to see a big intro to be a tangent in a show that's already got a lot of moving pieces.
