This week's WandaVision kicks off in Salem, Massachusetts in 1693 as Agatha Harkness is confronted by her fellow witches for seemingly tapping into powers she should not have. They attempt to kill Agatha, but fail, and she proceeds to absorb their abilities, leaving them as little more than husks (including her own mother). In the present, the villain talks to her rabbit, saying Wanda looks shocked to meet the "real us." Despite threats from the Avenger, Agatha is very much in control, and has set up protection spells to stop Wanda from using her powers. She goes on to explain that she was responsible for "Fake Pietro," describing bringing him back as being the result of a possession spell due to necromancy being a non-starter given what happened to the real Quicksilver's body (it sounds like he was laid to rest in Sokovia, and obviously full of bullet holes). Agatha doesn't explain whether this means his soul is inside that other body or if it was all just a ruse, but it wasn't her possessing that form. Señor Scratchy proceeds to eat a bird Agatha conjured, so there's something very sinister about her pet. It's also revealed that Agatha was drawn to Westview after sensing the multitude of spells Wanda cast, and that she got involved in those sitcoms to nudge her out of them and get Wanda to reveal her true self.

She then takes the hero on a trip down memory lane, and we revisit the night that Stark Industries missile hit young Wanda and Pietro's home. The former loved sitcoms as a child, and her mother and father would watch them with their two children on a regular basis. Agatha seems convinced it was Wanda's powers which stopped that bomb from going off, and we then jump to her time at HYDRA. After being introduced to Loki's sceptre, Wanda has a vision of it floating in front of her before the Infinity Stone within is revealed (showing her what seems to be a glimpse of her future as the Scarlet Witch). The scientists don't see any of that, but Agatha concludes that it was the Infinity Stone which amplified powers in Wanda which would have otherwise faded away.

Next, we're taken to the New Avengers Compound shortly after Pietro's death. Vision comforts Wanda and the two bond in an emotional, touching scene which is likely where they first started falling for each other. It's then we visit S.W.O.R.D. and see Wanda meet with Director Hayward. He did indeed manipulate that footage to make it look like she attacked the base, and shows her Vision being taken apart by his scientists. He won't let her leave with the fallen android's body, and when Wanda uses her powers, she can't feel him there. Following her to Westview, New Jersey, we learn that Vision bought them a plot of land so they could grow old together in the suburbs. A lot of familiar faces are shown as she drives through the town, and as Wanda breaks down, she loses control of her powers and creates the Hex around her. Inside their home, Wanda's red powers flow from her body, but turn yellow as they recreate Vision from nothing. Is she channelling the power of the Mind Stone that's within her to resurrect him? It's certainly one possibility, or potentially just a nod to the fact her powers can tap into reality to do anything she wants. With that, their happy sitcom life begins.

Back in the present, Wanda hears her children calling for her and runs into the street to find a fully costumed Agatha holding them by their throats. She knows what Wanda is and tells her that she has no idea how dangerous she is. "You're supposed to be a myth," she adds, "A being capable of spontaneous creation...this is Chaos Magic, Wanda. And that makes you the Scarlet Witch." It's there we end things.

An amazing post-credits scene follows, and you can find out all about that by clicking here.

Just a great episode but still so much needs to be answered. Also seems very possible on that episode 10.

Loved it but I got the sinking feeling the end is gonna feel rushed somehow. Still lots of questions hanging in the air and just one more episode left to go. Hope they can pull it off successfully. So far so good.

@Kingdork - I know this storyline is gonna continue in future movies, but I reallyyyy hope it isn’t a case of “want to see how Wanda makes it out of this? Check out Doc Strange 2 in theatres!!”

I literally have no idea how they’re gonna wrap this up nicely next week

@Kingdork - Well since Wandavision is meant to tie directly into Doctor Strange And The Multiverse Of Madness I say expect some questions to go unanswered in next weeks final episode but expect those unanswered questions to get possibly get answered in the second Doctor Strange film.

@Kingdork -
Personally I think:
• Agatha is genuinely trying to help by going around preventing Chaos Magic from being used.
• She was trying to track down Wanda after the blip hence why she went to Westview.
• She has spent several episodes trying to decide if Wanda is a good person or not based on Wanda's actions
• She may have lost a loved one given she remarks in surprise at the notion Wanda might be able to resurrect the dead
• It's possible that someone/something is sealed inside the mysterious book that appeared in the basement
• Ralph will be revealed (The Rabbit? The Stork?)
• Agatha legitimately views the Twins and Vision as Chaos Magic abominations and a danger which is why she has the twins captured.
• Another villain or entity created by Chaos Magic will be the main threat, likely taking the body of White Vision though with the end goal of taking the Twins (ALL THIS IS FOR THE CHILDREN)
• We know we are getting another villain because Agatha seems to imply she thinks the Basement is Wanda's, we are unfamiliar with whose it actually belongs to.
• Quicksilver's identity will be revealed
• Quicksilver will likely team up with Monica and either die or return to his part of the multiverse
• The Hex will collapse
• Wanda will have to accept the loss of Vision, even if White Vision sticks around it won't be the same Vision
• Doctor Strange will probably show up
• We'll likely get some sort of connection to Spider-man NWH (Given it is set 8 months after)

I wasn’t feeling this show at all before (if you all missed last week’s article.. i definitely overreacted haha) but this episode got me REALLY hooked.

My biggest question right now is.. how long until Doctor Strange shows up? There’s a lottt of dangerous magic stuff going on here

This episode was FRUSTRATING. So good. But as everyones' said, there's still SO many questions that I'm so worried that it's not gonna leave me satisfied.

@batman001 - I don't mind if the show ends up setting up a big problem that will bleed into Multiverse of Madness. But I truly believe it at least should resolve and pay off everything they set up in their narrative on the show itself in a satisfying fashion. Then this resolution opens up a can of worms and that bleeds into Multiverse of Madness. Like the end of Winter Soldier, Ragnarok, Infinity War. These movies closed their narrative loop and the outcome had repercussions later on in the next instalments. It's the way to go instead of letting us hanging and waitting for a movie coming next year to pay off some unanswered questions/narrative threads.

@Kingdork - I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this show left us with some unanswered questions since the Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for having characters arcs and to a degree some story threads that last years but yes I do agree that it would be nice if next weeks episode answered the questions that this show set up but it's something that I don't expect to be fully the case tho.

@Zer0squad - 2 hours is a reach I believe. I would be great but I don’t think they’ll do it. I would say it would be a little bit over an hour.

@Zer0squad - well I mean outside of who that mysterious character is and who pietro really is, there really isn't anything else that needs to be answered here. Anything else can either be addressed in mom or just left for fans to speculate on.

Okay quick thoughts:
The purple/Agatha-themed Marvel Studios logo!
I liked that they included Age of Ultron and Infinity War in the recap.
The Salem opening was dark af.
"That accent really comes and goes, doesn't it?".
Fietro!
They really were just chilling, wathcing Dick Van Dyke and then boom!
"I have a theory, but I need more..." is already a gif in my head.
"He isn't yours...".
"I can't feel you...".
Agatha's clapping was relatable.
Yea Olsen and Hahn are getting all the Emmys.

@batman001 - I don't think either was best actress or best supporting actress but if the academy gives them too much credit I suppose comic shows have deserved it for awhile
batman001
batman001 - 2/27/2021, 1:36 AM
@Hulkh8liars - Sadly both comic book movies and comic book TV shows will never get recognised for any big awards since there mostly seen as either filler or as stuff for little kids but comic book movies do have it slightly better since several have been nominated for OSCARS granted not any of the big OSCARS but still it's a small step in the right direction.

I don't actually think there's much left unanswered. Last week revealed the "who," tonight was all about the "how" and "why." The emotional core of the show is presented, all that's left is resolving the plot.

PerrinNation1 - 2/26/2021, 6:32 AM
@ShellHead - LOTS of questions left!

How does Monica play into al of this? WHERE is Monica anyway? Where is the missing person mentioned in episode 1? Why was it relevant? Does White Vision have the same abilities as regular Vision? Does wonder man and Grim Reaper have ANYTHING to do with this at all? They have been teased a bit here and there. was it all fan service or do they truly matter? Does Wanda become Scarlet Witch and be a villain? She’s gone back and forth as such in the comics. She’s due for a heel turn in the MCU.

My favorite episode of the season so far. Just filled with so much heart, emotion, and twists I was not expecting. I like agatha is not actually a bad person, and that she was trying to snap wanda out of this and trying to make wanda confront her emotions. I believe I understood that right.

I do wonder how the next episode will wrap it all up neatly..ish.
