WHAT IF...? Season Finale Clip Sees Party Thor Battling Infinity Ultron's Army Before Getting A Helping Hand

Marvel Studios has released a clip from "What If...The Watcher Broke His Oath?," and we find Party Thor attempting to overcome an army of Infinity Ultron's drones before he's plucked out of his reality...

Tomorrow's episode of What If...? is the season 1 finale, and it's going to be very interesting to find out how things wrap up. We know that The Watcher is going to break his oath by assembling the "Guardians of the Multiverse" to counter Infinity Ultron, but whether what we see here is going to have any sort of live-action ramifications is hard to say.

It's pretty cool to think that the heroes we've met over the course of the season will come together at The Watcher's behest, of course, though Gamora was reportedly supposed to be introduced in the delayed tenth episode (set on Sakaar with Iron Man). With that in mind, we're intrigued to see how her role in the series is handled without any sort of "origin" story.

It feels like this finale needs to be a little longer than normal unless the plan is for Infinity Ultron to be season 2's big bad as well, but very little beyond the title has been revealed about this episode.

What If...? has proven to be surprisingly divisive among MCU fans. With any luck, those criticisms will be taken on board with the next batch of episodes as this animated series still has plenty of potential moving forward (especially with some of the newer Phase 4 movies).

Honestly looking forward quite a bit to the finale. Season has been a bit hit or miss at times, but the set up for this finale the last couple episodes has been quite good.

The ending scene of Party Thor's episode feels even more out of place now. Hope we get an answer as to why The Watcher didn't recognize Ultron, even though they fought before the latter started his multiverse conquest

Look at all you sourpussies getting bent over party Thor. What If is just for fun and y'all acting like that's something that's gonna stick around and be canon.

Unless the explanation is Watcher is taking from universes he's visited recently, it seems thrown in for the sake of having a team of characters established throughout the series rather than a natural choice on his end.

While I don't mind the Ultron concept and the need for a mixed multiverse team, and enjoyed Easter eggs like Shuma Gorath, I'm hopeful for season 2 to be a bit more standalone; that's been the main appeal of most of season 1 for me.
