WHAT IF...? Stills Reveal A Mind-Bending Glimpse Of What's To Come In The Marvel Multiverse

Ahead of next Wednesday's premiere, Marvel Studios has shared some new stills from What If...? that offer a glimpse of the sort of crazy worlds we'll discover in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Multiverse.

What If...? is fast approaching, and Marvel Studios has now shared a new batch of stills from the Disney+ series. Initially, some fans had their doubts about the show's animation style, but it's clear from these - and a recent clip featuring the HYDRA Stomper - that no expense has been spared.

So, what do these images reveal about the mind-bending new take on the MCU?

Well, we start with a new take on Guardians of the Galaxy's opening scene, this time with T'Challa as Star-Lord instead of Peter Quill. He can then be seen fighting The Collector, though this version of the villain is a lot more buff than the one we met back in 2014. Loki, meanwhile, can be seen leading an army, and The Watcher is shown looming over the streets of New York.

Two of the most interesting shots show Queen Ramonda leading an army in Wakanda, but is Killmonger on the same side or leading an opposing force? That's definitely an intriguing premise.

Finally, we see Nick Fury and Hawkeye looking at Mjolnir in an apparent retelling of 2011's Thor.

What If...? arrives on Disney+ next Wednesday, and you can check back here for our review of the first three episodes on Tuesday (the embargo now lifts at 6am PT instead of 9am PT).

Kilmonger is definitely on the same side. That rhino he’s on is right in front of that stadium looking structure the queen is standing in front of. I think his story is What if… Kilmonger’s father stayed in Wakanda.

I will watch it because I'm a big fan of the MCU, but I don't like the animation, Avengers: EMH animation is so much better

Love the animation since it has an almost rotoscoped quality to it. Since this is based off the MCU, the less cartoony quality makes more sense.

Their male characters look too baby faced, it's distracting to me.

Did anyone see the one minute snippet. It makes it look like they are all set in different branches of the "timeline". Though it also seems that all stories are interconnected in this series. Does that mean we will see universe/timeline jumping in this series?

I really want that this hero-Killmonger goes to Earth-199999 and he's the Black Panther in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever".
