ARMY OF THE DEAD Honest Trailer Is All About Dumb Plans And Way Too Many Damaged Badasses

The Screen Junkies team has released its Honest Trailer for Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead, and as you might expect, the zombie heist movie's flaws definitely don't escape their wrath. Check it out...

We've been looking forward to this one, and are sure you'll be glad to know that the Honest Trailer for Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead is finally here!

As you might expect, several aspects of the movie come under fire here, though there's one point, in particular, we have to address. Why the f*** did the movie tease Vanderohe's badass, zombie-killing saw only to use it...to cut a hole in a wall? It was one of Army of the Dead's most anticlimactic moments, and something we're going to be struggling to figure out for a very long time.

Talking of badasses, this trailer also highlights the fact that pretty much every character is a "damaged badass," while noting that the movie doesn't really have anything to say beyond that.

As always, it's all in good fun, but the folks over at Screen Junkies make a lot of valid observations here.

In our review, we concluded by saying "Zack Snyder makes zombies cool again in Army of the Dead, but falls into bad habits along the way. Dave Bautista, however, steals the show, and the movie is fun, dumb, and wacky enough to make this a franchise we hope to sink our teeth into again."

@BlackBeltJones - It bothered me throughout the entire movie.

I like the guy but someone needs to tell him that forceful squinting and yelling is not acting.

@Kumkani - yea I think he improved a lot as an actor but there’s some work still to be done. The way he squinted in this movie was odd.

This is pretty accurate. Only thing missing is that it was really dumb not to show the girl they said out to safe again at all after the crash

This movie is absolute trash.

@Moriakum - Agree, its a total piece of shit. I think Snyder is getting "passing" scores on RT because critics feel bad for bullying and shitting on his films without knowing his daughter committed suicide. They are guilt passing this shit.

So many flaws besides the terrible acting, out of focus shots, dead pixels, etc:

Why did they need a person to crack the safe when they could've just asked the japanese guy for the password? He hired them, its his safe and located in his casino?

Why wouldn't the japanese guy tell them about the booby traps if he wanted his money in his safe (i know it was reveal later he didn't care but still)?

If the japanese guy wanted just the head of the zombie, why didn't he just hire them to get the head of the zombie? The team clearly doesn't care about each other or what type of job they were doing. They would've done both jobs for the same pay.

why did the japanese guy's right hand man need to backstabb the team when the team clearly doesn't care what he was doing? The team had no vested interest that he wanted or got the zombie head because all they wanted was the money.

If the army really wanted the head of the lead zombie, why not just send in their own team who are clearly more well equipped and skilled?

Why would the army need tissue samples of a zombie when they clearly should've already had some in the beginning? It started with the army transporting the lead zombie, they clearly had a hand in creating, finding, or already experimenting with it.

@mastakilla39 - The goal being the head was when I clocked out. Had the same thoughts as you. Technically, the billionaire’s plan worked out midway through the film. The traitor guy & the blondie successfully nab the head. All that was left was to head up to the chopper while everyone else is casino raiding.

The pilot would’ve left for more money. But why concoct such a messy plan to begin with? Like you said, just hire the Mercs to get the head. The team gets smaller, and the actual goal gets done.

If you enjoyed it, that's fine. But you can't deny that there were so many wrong decisions made for this movie. Can't even paint out a few dead pixels haha

Bautista's squinting 😆. He has improved his acting as an action hero but don't think he'll get any dramatic and emotive roles.

I think that lampooning a Snyder film is kind of like shooting fish in a barrel. It's a bit too easy to make fun of his questionable decisions, like that they considered a male zombie stripper with a chunk bitten out of his zombihood. Even THINKING of that idea shows how bad an idea man Hack is. And the fact that so much of the movie is supposedly out of focus... I don't need to not see that... ;-)

@pclark - Honestly, the zombiedick feels like the most Snyder thing to do I was surprised it wasn't in the movie. I think he is very aware of his choices, so maybe he did realize it was a bad idea. Kinda wish he pushed through on it though

The teasing of the zombie killing saw and then never seeing it used to kill a zombie is egregious
