It was recently confirmed that The Book of Boba Fett will premiere on Disney+ on December 29, and we're anticipating the first trailer for the show being released sometime this month.
In the meantime, the folks over at StarWarsNews.net have shared a very interesting scoop about what we can expect from The Mandalorian spinoff. The site has been reliable for information like this in the past, so we're pretty confident what you read below is something that will make it into the series.
According to the site, "Boba Fett will be encountering and quite possibly taming/controlling a rancor." Apparently, their source wasn't sure whether the bounty hunter will be fighting the beast or riding it, but we will see Fett "standing on the back of the Rancor’s neck, and it looks like he’s riding and controlling it as it tears through a complex/city street on what is likely Tatooine."
They've shared a mockup of what the scene might look like and note that this rancor (which obviously isn't the same one Luke Skywalker killed in Return of the Jedi) will be decked out in a huge chest plate and wrist guards. Chances are Bib Fortuna decided to take inspiration from Jabba the Hutt and get a beast of his own following his master's demise.
This sounds like a completely bonkers scene and one that should be a blast to watch play out.
The Mandalorian made it clear that Fett remains a badass, and, as the new ruler of Tatooine, it seems like he'll have his hands full dealing with the ramifications of Jabba's time in charge. Let us know your thoughts on these details below and keep checking back here for updates on The Book of Boba Fett.
