Boba Fett's childhood was fleshed out in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and The Clone Wars animated series, while The Mandalorian would later reveal that he'd survived the events of Return of the Jedi. There's still a lot we don't know, though, including how he became the bounty hunter we met in The Empire Strikes Back and the events surrounding his escape from the Sarlacc Pit.
We're hoping at least some of this will be addressed in The Book of Boba Fett, and actor Temuera Morrison has now promised fans that the Disney+ series is going to fill in some gaps. "There will definitely be a number of answers," he teased. "Some long-winded answers. Some short and sharp answers. Some colorful answers. We're filling a lot of gaps."
Morrison's co-star, Ming-Na Wen, added to that point, explaining how Boba and Fennec Shand's shared brushes with death is what brings them closer together in the show. "Boba died – or we thought he did – in the sarlacc pit, so I think that both of them share those near-death experiences in common. They both have a vulnerability that they understand."
It's going to be exciting to follow Fett's story after Return of the Jedi, while getting some answers about what he was up to after surviving his encounter with Tatooine's Sarlacc Pit. Non-canon Expanded Universe content revealed how he'd escaped that grisly fate, so we're intrigued to learn how Disney's version differs...or perhaps even stays the same!
Seeing as the bounty hunter lost his armour at some point - which was ultimately used by Cobb Vanth - we're keeping everything crossed that the two characters meet at some point on Tatooine in this spinoff.
The Book of Boba Fett is set to premiere on Disney+ on December 29.
