STAR WARS: ANDOR Will Reportedly Start Shooting In The Iconic Elstree Studios Later This Year

We have a major update on Lucasfilm's Andor plans, with a new report suggesting the studio is looking to shoot season 2 later this year...the question is, will they also be filming season 3? Check it out!

Elstree Studios in the UK has hosted many iconic movies over the years, including the Star Wars franchise. Now, Making Star Wars (via SFFGazette.com) is reporting that Andor season 2 is set to begin shooting there this November. It's no secret that another batch of episodes is in the works, but the site notes that production is expected to take as long as eighteen months.

That's an oddly long amount of time, especially as it would mean there would be a good two years or so between seasons of the show. However, the site observes that it's possible Lucasfilm will either shoot season 2 and 3 or that they may be planning to film two separate projects during that period.

Since this news broke, Screen Rant has run an update claiming Disney has debunked these claims.

That's to be expected, of course, as the studio isn't exactly going to come out and confirm reports like these. Hopefully, future plans for Andor and the Star Wars franchise as a whole will be revealed during next month's Star Wars Celebration convention. We remain in the dark about what's heading our way on the big screen, but Lucasfilm's Disney+ plans continue to expand.

As for Andor, it's still expected to arrive on Disney+ sometime between Obi-Wan Kenobi's debut on May 27 and The Mandalorian's return during the winter.

Keep checking SFFGazette.com for the latest Star Wars updates!

I want to know some detail about the story.

Perhaps Cassian Andor is a member of a Rebel terrorist cell planning a terrorist attack on Coruscant. The worst terrorist attack in the history of the Empire. Destroy the Imperial Senate, killing Palpatine during a special session.

Bail Organa would be involved and his cooperation would be essential.

A thriller in the Star Wars universe about the days before the attack. Something similar to the Valkyrie operation.

@Repian - you're getting me wet. I thought it was kinda nuts that there was a terrorist attack in Boba Fett

@dragon316 - "Less hound hand to hand action"? Yeah, I don't like when dogs fight either.

I also don't like when doves cry. What's your stance on that?

Of all the Star Wars shows, this is the only one that feels utterly pointless. Andor was an okay character but definitely not interesting or strong enough to carry a show imo. Add to that, thar we already know how he dies just before ep 4 begins.

If they wanted another show about a rebel, they should have just invented a new one.

I thought this already was filmed? Also why is this even a thing in the first place?
