OBI-WAN KENOBI: New STAR WARS Book Reveals Name And Backstory For The Show's Homeless Clone Trooper

A new Star Wars book reveals more about one of Obi-Wan Kenobi's most memorable cameos after "Ben" encountered a homeless veteran Clone Trooper on the streets of Daiyu. Now, they have a name and backstory!

In Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi, we followed "Ben" as he attempted to return the kidnapped Princess Leia to her family on Alderaan. Heading to a planet called Daiyu, the Jedi Master encountered a shocking reminder of the Clone Wars and Order 66 when he crossed paths with a homeless Clone Trooper.

The Bad Batch has started delving into the events which led to clones being replaced with Stormtroopers, but this cameo was still a reminder for both us and Obi-Wan of what happened to these soldiers when Emperor Palpatine had finished using them to take over the Galaxy.

In the upcoming book Star Wars: Dawn of the Rebellion: The Visual Guide, we learn more about the bearded Trooper forced to beg for loose change on Daiyu's streets. In fact, he even has a name!

"Downtrodden in the streets of Daiyu is the clone trooper Nax," it reveals (via SFFGazette.com). "A veteran of many battlefields, including Teth, Christophsis, and Umbara, he was removed from the frontlines after extensive injuries. Rapidly declining from age acceleration and neglect, Nax asks passersby for credits."

It looks like Nax wasn't among the soldiers enlisted by Anakin Skywalker on the night of Order 66 to attack the Jedi Temple. In fact, this description suggests he was discharged long before that, a decision which likely saw him fall by the wayside even when the Clone Wars were still raging.

With that in mind, we can no longer discount the possibility that Nax may well have recognised his old General.

Obi-Wan Kenobi was a hit with Star Wars fans, though there's sadly still no indication that Lucasfilm has plans for a second season. For now, we have other stories exploring this period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, though there's every chance that will change as those three new movies grow closer.

Take a closer look at this excerpt from this upcoming Star Wars book below.

Umbara was a cool planet. Loved the starfighters from the clone wars. The most futuristic thing I've seen out of Star Wars. Hope we see it again
