Cameras have been rolling on Star Wars: Skeleton Crew since June, and while we still know very little about the upcoming Disney+ series, a new set video offers an action-packed sneak peek at what's to come.
Bespin Bulletin (via SFFGazette.com) was recently on hand at California State Universe in Dominguez Hills where they managed to catch Ravi Cabot-Conyers' unnamed character riding a speeder bike before his stunt double was thrown off. There's no indication of what leads to that happening as it's apparent this is one small part of a much larger sequence.
Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Chris Ford (Chaos Walking) have teamed up to develop Skeleton Crew, a series that takes place in the same post-Return of the Jedi timeframe as The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.
Jude Law is set to lead the series, while Cabot-Conyers and Kryiana Kratter are also believed to have joined the cast. The premise of the series is that a group of kids get lost in the Galaxy and need to find their way home, though we have to imagine there's more to the show than that.
With Jon Favreau involved, don't be surprised if it ties into his wider plans. The filmmaker has said Watts pitched the idea of this show to him while they were shooting the latest Spider-Man movie and it's clearly a story Lucasfilm felt was worth telling.
It's previously been reported that Skeleton Crew will be the most expensive Star Wars TV show produced for Disney+ with a budget of $136 million. Like Andor, it's believed this series will be shot on locations like the one shown below rather than relying primarily on The Volume, so we're assuming that could be what makes it that little bit more expensive.
Take a look at this latest Skeleton Crew set video below and stay tuned to SFFGazette.com for updates on the series. The show is expected to premiere on Disney+ in late 2023.
