Jabba the Hutt's majordomo Bib Fortuna made a (brief) return for the post-credits scene of the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian last week, and actor Matthew Wood has now shared his response via Twitter.
Fortuna was originally played by Michael Carter in Return of the Jedi, but Wood took over as the character for his appearance in The Phantom Menace.
In "The Rescue," it was revealed that the resourceful Twi'lek survived the sail barge explosion from ROTJ and had replaced Jabba's as the head of his crime syndicate on Tatooine. His reunion with Boba Fett was short-lived, however, as the ruthless bounty hunter blasted him in the chest and took his place on the throne.
"It has been a literal BLAST to don the the lekku again as Bib Fortuna for #TheMandalorian," said Wood in his Tweet. "As Boba made his way toward me, I’d hoped that all the Kenner proof of purchases I sent in for him in 1979 would have come in handy...."
Seeing Fortuna again was a nice call-back... even if it didn't last very long! Could other familiar faces from Jabba's palace show up in The Book of Boba Fett? We'll have to wait until next December to find out.
