THE MANDALORIAN Season 2 Finale Stills Highlight Some Big Guest Stars But NOT That Surprise Cameo

Lucasfilm hasn't released a character poster for The Mandalorian's season two finale, but we do have a handful of spoiler stills which put the spotlight on everyone but than that surprise guest star...

During Friday's episode of The Mandalorian, Mark Hamill made a surprise return to this Galaxy Far, Far Away as Luke Skywalker. Made to look younger thanks to the wonders of VFX, the Jedi Knight took out Moff Gideon's Dark Troopers in a way that made Star Wars fans jump for joy.

That's the Luke they've been waiting to see ever since the credits rolled on Return of the Jedi in 1983. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see him on a character poster today, as Lucasfilm has declined to share one at all (if not Luke, we anticipated seeing the Dark Troopers receive the spotlight). That's disappointing, as is the fact that there's no concept art for the latest episode of the Disney+ series.

On the plus side, a handful of new stills have been shared by the studio. While Luke Skywalker is M.I.A., characters like Boba Fett, Bo-Katan Kryze, and The Child all receive the spotlight.

Din Djarin's emotional reunion with Grogu is also touched on, though we don't get to see the bounty hunter without his helmet. Whether those stills will be released down the line remains to be seen, but some screenshots that surfaced on Friday gave us a hi-res look at Hamill's fan-favourite Jedi.

Take a look at these new stills from The Mandalorian below:

Not that surprise cameo? WTF. Every Monday you have spoilers in a Madalorian headline but somehow, after the finale, you change the tactics? Way to take a stand.

@WakandaTech - seeing how fast they're moving with the Marvel shows, I can imagine Disney putting out Star Wars stuff pretty quick as well.

Probably The Bad Batch, Andor and Boba Fett in 2021, The Mandalorian S3, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka and Visions in 2022 and The Mandalorian S4, Ranger, Lando and The Acolyte in 2023. The Droid show could be anywhere

@bkmeijer - The Volume is such a game changer. It's not perfect yet but the amount of time and resources it saves for post-processing, dressing up sound studios, and good ol' on-location shots is just astounding.

I don't like the way Bo be treating my boy Boba in that cafe scene. His father fought in the Mandalorian Civil Wars goddamit. Respect (the clone of) your veterans

Honestly they should treat The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker as visions from the force of a future that will be if Kylo continues his training. And have it all hit Luke at once when he puts his hand over Kylo being asleep and reads his energy.

This way they erase the new trilogy as a terribly written what if sequence and focus on building a better continuity with the shows. I would love to see Kal Kestis, Ashoka, and Luke build a new Jedi Order for a future Knights of the New Republic series.

@SonOfAGif - I hate to dissappoint you, but I don't think Disney will ever treat the sequels as anything else as canon. And what does it matter, just enjoy the Mandalorian and let other enjoy the sequels (like me)

Was missing Axe Woves, but they probably couldn't find a place for him in the finale. Seeing the rest of the characters was pretty damn awesome. Never had I expected so many established characters showing up in the finale
