Venom is rapidly approaching and some new details about the movie are finding their way online as a result. Firstly, we have another featurette for the Marvel Comics adaptation which shows off a few seconds of Venom doing battle with Riot and the latter is definitely utilising some tricks most closely associated with Carnage. Could it be that Riot bonds with Cletus Kasady to become the iconic villain?

Time will tell but what's even more interesting are the details about how the Symbiotes come to Earth in the first place. Apparently, the Life Foundation has sent a space probe out to search for, well, life and that comes across a comet which is covered
in the aliens. They're then collected and brought to our planet and it turns out that they've been searching for years to find somewhere with suitable hosts.

It's actually been reported on numerous occasions that Venom is partly based on the "Planet of the Symbiotes" comic book storyline so the inspiration here is clear to see. Check out the videos below and be sure to share your thoughts about these big new reveals in the comments section down below.

Every time I see this movie, the song "Venom" by Eminem pops into my head.

The cgi still just looks so ungodly bad, especially in that riot fight.

And for the record picking Riot for the first villain was a huge [frick]ing mistake. I know they don't want to waste carnage on venoms first movie, but at least Venom and Carnage are distinct enough, Venom and Riot almost look exactly the [frick]ing same. I remember seeing this shot in the trailer (Where the lighting isn't brightened) and I seriously thought this was like some kind of like badass struggle between Eddie and the Symbiote....Nope.

I really want this movie to be good, but literally everything but the relationship between eddie and the symbiote looks sub par. Please Sony prove me wrong.

Despite the movie running 112 minutes, it already feels worn down and as if we've seen too much. Plus the villain just doesn't look interesting at all.

CGI looks pretty bad for something that drops in a little under a month. I'm surprised this thing is 112 minutes. Feels like I've seen most of the film. It look easy to predict as well.

This whole thing is cringey bad looking. The dialouge, Hardy's weird accent, the terrible 90's looking cgi. Maybe this'll make for a good hate-watch drunk or a rifftrax, but otherwise, no.

@BlackBeltJones - Damn, I wonder what happened to Justin Lin? He was set to direct awhile back when it was set to be Blake Griffin in the starring role (that was when he was back with the Clippers, in LA).

It looks like the dude from Random Acts of Flyness on HBO (which isn't half-bad) will direct. His name is Terence Nance.
