Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista will reprise the role of Drax in Avengers: Infinity War but before we get to see him back on the big screen, the actor has returned as the fan-favourite hero in a new promo for Marvel and FoxNext's mobile game Marvel Strike Force. We won't spoil what happens in the video below but it's really funny and makes good use of Drax's trademark deadpan humour.

If you haven't heard about the game, it pits players against Ultimus, a Kree Eternal who has big plans for Earth. In order to hold off his attack, Earth's Mightiest Heroes come together and join forces with S.T.R.I.K.E. (Strategic Tactical Reserve for Interdimensional Key Events), the British version of S.H.I.E.L.D.

In MARVEL Strike Force, ready for battle alongside allies and arch-rivals in this action-packed, visually-stunning free-to-play game for your phone or tablet. An assault on Earth has begun, and Super Heroes and Super Villains are working together to defend it! Lead the charge by assembling your ultimate squad, including Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Loki, Elektra, Captain America and Iron Man, as you enter strategic combat against an all-new enemy threat. It’s time to fight! Gather your squad and prepare for the battle to save Earth!

It's surprising to hear the voice of a star from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a promo like this but it's also a nice treat and the sort of crossover fans will appreciate. Do you guys have any interest in checking out Marvel Strike Force? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on that below.

As bad as I am on console, I’m way worse trying to play games on my phone or iPad.

Anyway....I’m glad you took up acting Dave😊

Is it really him? He sounds like Brick from Borderlands.

Where's the proof that this was Dave Bautista?

Fan favorite and then GotG2 happened. Seriously though, not Bautista’s fault. Hopefully the Russo’s have dialed back the middle school humor.

@RolandD - GotG 2 was a good movie though

@RolandD - He was hilarious in GOTG2

@Ragnarocknroll - Mixed IMHO. There were some highlights for me, mostly having to do with Yondu. He had the funniest line in the movie and his relationship with and sacrifice for Peter were some of the best parts for me along with the sisters. If they had dialed the humor back some, especially the penis and nipple jokes, I would have liked it a whole lot better.

@BlackPhillip - Don’t get me wrong, he and the rest of the gags had me laughing; I just would have preferred less of it. It was like Gunn took the humor that was just right in GotG v1 IMHO and dialed it up a bit much.

zzzzzz mobile games are so lame, but I know they just make easy ass money.

Need more info on that new Avengers project game. Hoping it's a new open world RPG.

The best Marvel mobile game out there is the "Marvel Future Fight", the rest are complete BS.

I'm enjoying this game, I bounce back and forth between this and Future Fight. Strike Force is very similar to Avengers Alliance and they just added Wolverine so I can't wait to unlock him.
