The newest chapter of the Mortal Kombat mythos continues in the newest game from NetherRealm Studios.

No story line has been revealed yet, but the footage (previously stated as gameplay which hasn't been confirmed, although unlikely given the cinematic feel to it.)* shown in the trailer reveals that it has taken some of the company's previous release, DC's Injustice:Gods Amongs Us traits, one being enviromental attacks along with MK9's special attack, X-Ray.




Mortal Kombat X is scheduled for relesease on 2015.
It will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, XBox 360, and PC.

 


*The footage shown in the trailer is actually work by Digital Dimensions, who has worked on cinematic trailers for high profile franchises such as, Assassins Creed, God of War, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Elder Scroll, Far Cry, and Mortal Kombat, along with working on films such as The Grey, 300, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, and countless other films..

As a Mortal Kombat fan, I'm very excited.

As a member of a few Morral Kombat online communities, I'm very upset. The users on the MK Forums are by-and-large, annoying pre-teens, assholes with no respect for women (who see nothing wrong with the outfits, or lack-thereof, that the female characters wear), and douche-bags who are a little too-obsessed with violence. Of course there are exceptions, but the vast majority of MK fans make me embarrassed by extension.

It's not fun to be excited about a product, but having to avoid the forums like a plague.

Mortal Kombat X is gonna kick so much ass. The reboot was [frick]ing epic. Best fighting game franchise ever. Definitely my favorite game franchise ever. This teaser is brutal and epic. That fatality man... Jesus it's badass. Can't [frick]ing wait! Between Age of Ultron, Fantastic Four, Terminator, Ant-Man, the Assassin's Creed adaptation and Mortal Kombat X. 2015 is about to be my [frick]ing year!

Shit game....revert back to Midway games..lol...

Midway no longer exists in any real sense. The division of Midway that has always made MK games (as well as the new "Injustice: Gods Among Us"), NetherRealm Studios, is now owned by the WB (a reason we'll never get a decent MK movie). Either way, the same people are still making the game, the studio is just now owned by a new company.

Because Scorpion and Sub-Zero are arguably the two best-known MK characters; and because the creator, Ed Boon, has gone on record saying that Scorpion is his favorite character.

Great that there is another MK game in the works, but also glad that it's coming out next year. There is like 10 games I plan to get that come out this fall.

I much prefer street fighter, the combat it mk always felt a little stiff and slow for me. That said mk characters are far more interesting! I'll play it for story mode!
