Sony kicked off its inaugural “State of Play” livestream for its PlayStation brand with an exciting trailer for
Iron Man VR.
As the title of the game suggests, this is a new virtual reality game developed by Camouflaj, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Marvel Games for PlayStation 4 in which you are thrust into the suit of Tony Stark on a heroic mission to save the world.
Some brief footage from the game was shown during the stream. Gameplay will, of course, be in the first-person perspective. When inside the suit, you’ll have a heads-up display that presents you with all of the high-tech gadgets you have at your disposal.
Don the PlayStation VR headset* to suit up as the Armored Avenger in an original Iron Man adventure! Using two PlayStation® Move motion controllers** fire up Iron Man’s Repulsor Jets and blast into the skies with an arsenal of iconic Iron Man weapons at your fingertips. Face off against Iron Man’s greatest foes in high stakes, action-packed battles. Upgrade tech in Tony Stark’s garage to customize Iron Man’s sleek suit and awesome abilities.
In addition to action-packed gameplay, Camouflaj director Ryan Payton says the developer is also aiming to provide
"a deeply personal, and appropriately funny, narrative that puts players in Tony Stark's armoured shoes." Players will fly around the globe and come face-to-face with some of Tony Stark's iconic allies and Super Villains while on a mission to save Stark Industries and the world.
Marvel’s
Iron Man VR will debut on PlayStation VR in 2019. It may not be the
Avengers Project game that many Marvel fans have been eagerly awaiting, but at least it's something different than the constant stream of mobile games we're fed. We also have
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order coming to Nintendo Switch in 2019.
