Duncan Jones’ WARCRAFT Movie Moving Ahead, Begins Filming In January
The Duncan Jones helmed World of Warcraft film is reportedly set to begin filming in January says a new report coming in the wake of Legendary Pictures' departure from Warner Bros.
A new report states that director Duncan Jones is set to being filming “Warcraft” on January 13th for Legendary Pictures. Production Weekly brings the news that offices are being setup at this very moment for the project in Vancouver’s CMPP studios. PW stays on top of these type of announcement so consider this report on the up and up, which should surely please World of Warcraft fans.
There was a bit of concern that the project was possibly dead due to recent studio shakeups. Recently, Legendary declined to renew their partnership with Warner Bros. and left for greener pastures at Universal Pictures. WB had the option to remain on as co-fiancier and distributor of the Warcraft film but declined to do so. Roughly two weeks ago, it was reported that Legendary planned to pitch the film’s concept to Universal who would determine if they would take on the role vacated by WB. The news from Production Weekly tells me one of two things have potentially happened – 1) Legendary has already pitched to Universal and they’re on board; or 2) Legendary has decided to fully finance the video game movie on their own, regardless of what Universal decides.
