A New Production Logo For Paramount's SONIC THE HEDGEHOG Will Surely Bring Back Fond Childhood Memories

Paramount Pictures and Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog will return to the big screen next year, and the first production logo of the film should please the fandom as it definitely embraces the source material...

Last October, we learned that Paramount Pictures had acquired the movie rights for Sonic the Hedgehog, the anthropomorphic blue protagonist of Sega's game series. Sonic will be yet another Paramount attempt at adapting a Japanese property after the controversial Ghost in the Shell with Scarlett Johansson. The first (and pretty good) Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie was released in 1996.

Yesterday at CinemaCon 2018, we got our very first look at the title logo of the upcoming movie. The placeholder logo was revealed by OmegaUnderground's Caleb Williams and I'm more than happy to report that at least the movie's logo embraces its source material. Every fan of Sonic should instantly recognize gold lettering in the “Sonic” name and blue letters for “The Hedgehog" part.

Sonic the Hedgehog will mix CG and live-action characters and it is the first entry to a planned film series. The screenplay is being written by Patrick Casey and Josh Miller (Transylmania, 12 Deadly Days) and Tim Miller (Deadpool, Terminator 2019) is producing the flick. Jeff Fowler (Gopher Broke, Where the Wild Things Are) is set to direct the movie. Be sure to check out the logos down below:

Sonic the Hedgehog  is expected to hit theaters on November 15, 2019.

I felt sooo cool circa 2001 grinding down City Esacpe with Shadow and his SOAP shoes. Brings back good memories.

also, if this movie doesn’t get donald glover for sonic and mark hamill as robotnik, they’re missing out on some movie magic.

I don't know man...
Think a Sonic Animated movie would be awesome, kinda like Sonic Mania's opening (FYI Tyson Heese is a fantastic animator) and the fact that Sega Mazda are handling the visual give me some small comfort...
But Live-Action ?! I just don't see it working out

@agent025 - Yeah man its fantastic <3 Think Studio Yotta did a lot of the in-betweens.
Unfortunately theres no money to be made from producing a traditional animated Sonic movie
