The second season of Netflix's animated
Castlevania series will debut this summer. According to writer Warren Ellis, the second season will consist of eight installments, doubling the episode count of the show's four-episode first season.
The first season of
Castlevania debuted on the streaming service on July 7, 2017, and was renewed for an expanded second season on the same day.
Speaking to
Paste Magazine last year, Ellis teased a shift from the source material in the second season.
"So I’ve written what I think of as Season Two already, which is where I move away from the source material somewhat, stretch my legs, and probably get a little eccentric in places," the writer explained.
"'Season 1, Part 1' is telling the story we originally showed up to tell 10 years ago. “Part 2” is where I take more advantage of being on Netflix, I think."
Keep a look out as we hope to hear a more specific premiere date in the coming months.
