It's time for a Wonder Woman movie!

With "Clash of the Titans" and "Percy Jackson" out there, plus "Thor" in the works, there is no reason for not having a Wonder Woman movie.

Okay, we all know that the Wonder Woman movie is long overdue. Some people say it won’t work, or shouldn’t be made. If Thor can be made, so can Wonder Woman! I just wanted to share some thoughts about the movie.

Creator Involvement: An absolute must! Now don’t get me wrong, Geoff Johns is the man and will/should probably be involved but I’d also like to see Phil Jimenez and/or George Perez involed as well. The Wonder Woman movie needs a feminist backbone and they would help with that. I chose them because they are my favorite WW writers and I think they balanced her well. Plus they will make sure WW gets the proper treatment she deserves!

Powers/Weapons: When is the last time you saw a woman lifting an ocean liner and breaking the sound barrier at the same time? She is almost as strong and fast as Superman. I feel it‘s very important that everyone sees it. When she moves fast, it should be a blur. WW can fight like the people on DBZ so she should be shown kicking butt efficiently! I’d also like to see her use her ability to communicate with animals. They could have some pretty cool special effects with WW’s bracelets, lasso, and tiara. The small shield that is created when Diana crosses her bracelets should be there, along with the lasso of truth being utilized. They better have her FLYING too! Which brings me to this…

The Invisible Jet: Does not have to be in the movie, at least in the first one. A reference would be great. Diana can fly, and Hermes can take her and Steve back to the U.S. I think it would just be too much for first timers to swallow.

The costume: Obviously it has to be updated and modified to be taken seriously these days. They had something fashioned or at least drawn up during the "JL: Mortal" debacle. I’m sure it will be similar to the pic posted on here, or at least it should be. No open toed sandals though!

Story: Should be an origin story. I think it should be something along the lines of Ares going to start WW3, and the Gods sending Diana by way of the Amazons to stop him. But please for the love of GOD do not make it like the animated movie! I could write a whole article on everything that was wrong with that flick!

The Cast:
I left out the main Gods-Zeus and Hera, as well as the Gods Diana gets her powers from, but they should be in the movie. I’d also like to see specific Amazons such as Phillipus and Menalippe.

Princess Diana/Wonder Woman: Cobie Smulders. Cobie has always been my first choice among KNOWN actresses. I think she looks like she could be Lynda’s daughter.
Let’s face it. A Lynda Carter only comes around every couple hundred years or so. So unless there is someone out there that we haven’t seen, Cobie is top pick for me.

Queen Hippolyta: Lynda Carter. Lynda is still looking gorgeous and I think the majority of people want to see her in the role.

Julia Kapatelis: Jane Lynch. I think she’s a good actress and looks the part.
Photobucket

Steve Trevor: I prefer an older Steve. I would like him to be more of a father figure instead of a love interest. He should be respectful and caring. Not like in the animated version. The film should be more about establishing Wonder Woman for today. Although it doesn’t need to be there, I’m sure they will have Diana and Steve romantically linked. How about Josh Lucas? Just throwing this one out there I must admit.

I’m still looking for Etta Candy and Vanessa Kapatelis and Ares....What do you guys think?

There you go. I know it’s kind of vague and the pics are too big but hey, I gave it a shot.

Whats funny is Josh Lucas was used as Steve Trevor in a fan made Wonder Woman trailer with Angelina Jolie as Wonder Woman.

Cobie Smulders, I did see someone show me a photo of her in the WW outfit looked good I thought. If they wanted to go with some big names here are a few I thought for the last 10 years for WW

Catherine Zeta-Jones has the look, the figure and all

Kate Beckinsale has the figure too, and she proved her action chops in Underworld

If they want to go the route of someone not as well known as Catherine Zeta Jones or Kate Beckinsale

I remember someone on another post saying Amanda Righetti from the tv show The Mentalist a few weeks back, she would be a very nice choice

This one was mentioned by my wife a few weeks back when I was watching Castle, and she said why not Stana Katic as Wonder Woman, and I had that Castle "oooooo" moment. I think she would be a good choice as well, thats my wifes choice

Erin Cummings is my choice for Wonder Woman, she has sword fighting experience and is a pretty good actress who plays on the Starz series called Spartacus:Blood and Sand and here's a few pics of her:Photobucket

So what do you guys think of her?

Yeah I think I've seen those pics before but I think Cummings is a good casting choice because I can also believe her as an Amazon more than I can say Megan Fox or Jessica Biel.

However as an alternative,I'd also like Bridget Regan for the role too.

I also say that Lucy Lawless is the Perfect Hippolyta.

Bekinsale has said on NUMEROUS occasions that she's getting out of the spandex wearing superhero movie business because of her kids. Because of that, in my opinion there is only ONE person to play the Amazonian Princess:

Rhona Mitra as Wonder Woman!

Anyone who’s seen ‘Underworld – Rise of the Lycans’ KNOWS that Mitra not only has the looks, stature, and acting ability, but also the sheer ‘kick-@ssedness’ (YES I know that’s not a real word) to be a true Amazon Princess!

Yes David, that is the photo I saw, it was a while back but now I remember seeing that, dont know where it came from but whoever did it, great job on it, I didnt notice the battlescars until now.

I think Rhona Mitra said on her Myspace page on her comment thing she asked if her fans thought she would make a great Wonder Woman now that you mentioned her.

Now here is who Wonder Woman should be

OK people before you go up in arms that is a joke people. That gorgoeus woman is Gina Miller, (Who is taller than me shes about 6'2'' without heels, and I am 6 feet tall) she does sports for CBS11/TXA21 here in Dallas Ft Worth and does the pregame shows on TXA21 for the Dallas Mavericks and Texas Rangers. That pic was taken on Halloween, she asked Mavs fans for suggestions, and Wonder Woman was the top vote getter, and she actually was on-air dressed as Wonder Woman. I know Gina very well due to my job with the Mavericks organization and I do tease her about the Wonder Woman thing occasionally. She IS NOT PLAYING WONDER WOMAN, If I can find more pics of her dressed as that I will. This was taken from her Twitter page.

In my mind, Bridget Regan is the ONLY actress to play WW. Her face is perfect; she's tall; she can handle action scenes. She just needs to trim those thighs a bit. Lynda Carter as Hippolyta is a no brainer.

For me,the role of Hippolyta is a tie between Lynda Carter and Lucy Lawless

I think Mitra would make a good Cheetah......

Karen Cliche can make an awesome Wonder Woman and she looks like the Alex Ross' version. I think also for Queen Hippolyta will be played by Cate Blanchett. I choosed Cate Blanchett to play Diana's mother "The Queen of Amazons" for Lynda Carter she can make a cameo appearance to play Steve Trevor's mom in the Flashback scenes discovering Paradise Island during War World 2 in the new era (In my opinion) Steve Trevor's Mom.

Jane Seymour can play Julia Kapatelis (Wonder Woman's Mentor), she starred in "SOMEWHERE IN TIME" with Christopher Reeve and guest starred as Genevieve Teague in the episode season 6 of SMALLVILLE. She can make a great Mentor to Princess Diana speaking english from greek.
