WONDER WOMAN 3 Will Only Happen If There's Enough Pressure From Fans Says Icon Lynda Carter

Original Diana Prince actress Lynda Carter has shared some insights into the "wonderful" plans Patty Jenkins had for Wonder Woman 3 and shares her belief fans need to pressure DC Studios to make it happen.

In Wonder Woman 1984's mid-credits scene, we learned that Asteria, the Amazon who stayed behind in a bid to buy her fellow Amazons time to escape to Themyscira, was still alive and well in the world of man.

Played by legendary Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter, the suggestion seemed to be that she'd appear in Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 3 (perhaps helping Diana Prince finally return home).

That movie was scrapped when DC Studios was formed and, as best we can tell, there are no plans for it to happen in the new DCU. Gal Gadot seems pretty convinced she'll return, but common sense says Wonder Woman will be recast in the same manner as Batman and Superman.

Talking to Yahoo Entertainment, Carter shared her belief that Wonder Woman 3 will only happen if fans demand it.

"I don’t think they want to do it unless there’s enough pressure from fans," she explained. "I just don’t think they have the mind to do it. And I don’t understand that, because it seems to me that Wonder Woman is different from other characters. She’s not just a superhero."

"Her whole thing is about peaceful solutions. She’s not aggressive to be aggressive. It’s a different story. It’s about inner strength, outer strength. I don’t know why they tabled it, because it’s a great franchise."

Carter went on to say that Wonder Woman 3 "was really interesting, wonderful and about something important," adding that it was, "Not just your typical thing. But they don’t want anyone else to make it."

Jenkins also recently broke her silence on the scrapped threequel when she said, "It's not an easy task, what's going on with DC. James Gunn and Peter Safran have to follow their own heart into their own plans...I have sympathy for what a big job it is."

She'd add that the movie is, "over for the time being, easily forever."

We don't expect to ever see Wonder Woman 3 in theaters, and while it's possible Gunn and Safran would bring Gadot back for another movie, it surely wouldn't be with Jenkins after what the response to Wonder Woman 1984 (a movie deemed a "franchise killer" due to the missteps it made compared to its record-breaking 2017 predecessor).

Whatever comes next, we're hoping Wonder Woman doesn't stay on the shelf for too long. DC Studios still hasn't announced plans for the Amazon, though we are supposedly getting a Themyscira-set TV series on Max.

Gunn and Safran are just waiting for Gadot's contract to expire. 😋

But then again if they're bringing Davis' Waller back, there's a small chance she can re appear.

@UniqNo - nah Gunn isn’t letting her play Diana, she might get a small role as another character

@Taonrey - That's what i mean. They can't say she's not coming back after her reup deal from when WW84 going to streaming. Until that expires they can't announce a new one. (Im assuming.

@UniqNo - the only reason I think Waller and the rest of The Peacemaker cast are gonna return is tied to an in-universe event that happened with them.

Maybe Waller (the show) establishes that something happened, Peacemaker S2 explores the fallout of that (with Peacemaker being the only one to remember it), and The Lanterns investigate why it happened.

Yeeeaaah, that's not happening anytime. First WW was alright, but the second one sucked almost as much as Gusto trying to make ends meet.

There will be pressure from the fans, but I think moreso to have a Wonder Woman appear in Paradise Lost or in a movie. And that isn't gonna be Gal Gadot, although I wouldn't mind seeing her recast as Hippolyta.

Back when Gadot was first cast, fans were posting forced crap like "Gadot is so hot" - Not!, "Gadot is so perfect in the role & can act" - HAHAHAHAHA!

But after two trash movies, people realize Gadot was terrible and Snyder and Jenkins Wonder Woman was trash as well. And bonus trash was Lynda Carter's dumbass cameo.

As someone who liked the first one and even got some enjoyment of 1984 , I wouldn’t have minded a third installment but I’m fine with moving forward fresh aswell.

I know that it would have been modern day and seems like Lynda Carter’s Asteria would have been in it which would have been nice.

Oh well , it is what it is though and I’m intrigued to see how Paradise Lost will tie into the new DCU and perhaps their plans for Wonder Woman.

Bleah.

Gadot is gone. Everyone knows it. WW 1984 was Halle Berry Catwoman bad.

@DocSpock - it was no where near as bad as that trash. Ww84 was far from perfect but i think it was still a decent follow up. Watching pascal ham it up was quite funny.

@UniqNo -

I respectfully disagree. I thought it was horrible in every way. I felt excellent actor Pascal was totally wasted in this turkey.

I liked WW a lot, which made the disappointment of this mess that much worse.

The quality drop from Wonder woman to Wonder woman 84 was extreme. I think it's best we just let this one go.

@TheCoonII - Well, there's also the fact that the rebooting the entire universe, and although they got the first Wonder woman right, the versions of Batman, and Superman, and the flash, all sucked

Make another Wonder Woman movie, just not Wonder Woman 3.
Timerider

So Batman and Joker can have Elseworld movies, but Wonder Woman can’t? I wouldn’t mind seeing it, if they took the time to get the story and script right, if they cast the right actors for the part. Why can’t we have different Elseworld movies, besides the main timeline that Gunn is working on. We’re getting The Batman 2 and 3, plus a Joker movie.

I’d prefer Wonder Woman 3 film being the last DCEU film, than the Aquaman 2 ending we got. I say let them make it, if done right.

@Timerider - If the second one hadnt been diarrhea on screen then maybe it could, but nobody other than an out of work Lynda Carter wants that.
