WONDER WOMAN 1984's Rotten Tomatoes Score Has Been Revealed

The review embargo for Wonder Woman 1984 lifted today, and Rotten Tomatoes has shared the early score for Patty Jenkins' DC Comics sequel starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Pedro Pascal, and Kristen Wiig...

Love it or hate it, Rotten Tomatoes is crucial to many moviegoers when it comes to deciding whether to watch a new release. In the case of Wonder Woman 1984, it appears the DC Comics sequel will soon be "Certified Fresh" on the review aggregator thanks to this first wave of verdicts.

Of course, these reviews aren't going to make much of a difference to the movie's box office haul as it won't be receiving a traditional release. In the UK, cinemas in London have been forced to close from tomorrow, the day Wonder Woman 1984 actually arrives on the big screen there. In the U.S., meanwhile, Patty Jenkins' follow-up to 2017's Wonder Woman hits HBO Max and theaters on December 25th.

Regardless, as we write this, the movie has a score of 88% based on 58 reviews.

The current Critics Consensus reads, "Great Hera! Wonder Woman 1984 is an epic dose of heart and vibrant escapism that proves there are still unexpected thrills to be found in superhero cinema."

This is definitely good news for Wonder Woman 1984 after multiple delays and a chaotic 2020, and you can read our spoiler-free review by clicking here. In that, we describe the film as "a powerful, emotional sequel to 2017's Wonder Woman" which "sees Pedro Pascal deliver another phenomenal performance as the delightfully maniacal Maxwell Lord."

There we go again, Disney paying critics to give a movie an artificially high score.

Good one. 😆
I suspect it will go over a lot of heads, though.

@bkmeijer - Zealots of the esteemed competition have alleged that the Mouse pays critics, and to an extent RT, to give Disney movies high scores and the competition's low scores. At the same time, they have refused to acknowledge that RT is owned by both Warner Brothers and Universal - Disney's largest competitors.

But, regardless if the allegation is true, this obsession on RT scores can be a bit much at times.

@Vanillain - that sounds hilariously ignorant of those people. Always thought it was a joke, but I should've known there are people who believe that stuff
