For the past few years, comic book movie fans have enjoyed breakout and blockbuster hits. However, with a disappointing summer, and many pundits predicting an inevitable collapse of the genre, I am still holding out hope for the missing element: a quality superhero parody.
It was a staple of my childhood. For every Top Gun, there was a Hot Shots. For James Bond, we had Naked Gun. What did we get for superheroes? 2008's Superhero movie? I've repressed the existence of that dismal suckfest.
Nowadays fans are better off looking to YouTube to create and enjoy self-made parody passion projects. And I can only hope the Hollywood continues its trend of looking to the internet for answers on how to pull entertainment off successfully.
Enter Flula Borg. The world's funniest German has kept me laughing for years on his YouTube channel. From music videos made in his automobile to wry observations on ridiculous American culture and solilquoys on the greatness of the Dallas Mavericks and boobs, the guy is hilarious.
And he just took on Wolverine.

While the claws get soggy in the ocean, and he's a little tall for our pint-sized hero (didn't stop Jackman), he manages to match the rage, mutton chops, and abs while bringing a level of fun that's been missing in previous parody attempts.
Let me know what you think in the comments, noble CBM readers. Does Flula have what it takes to pull off Logan in a parody movie?
