It was a given with Patrick Stewart's 'Xavier' casting, but producer Simon Kinberg has officially confirmed that the third and final film for Hugh Jackman's Wolverine will be set in the future. His comment is simple, but vague, stating:  “The Wolverine movie takes place in the future.”

While Days of Future Past saw a future that was bleak and unappealing, with the 'reset' timeline that the Wolverine we know and love is currently residing in, we may see what is going on in that new future and how the villain of the film who was recently cast sets into motion to cause trouble for Xavier and Wolverine. Time will tell when more news starts trickling in.

For now, what do you think of this confirmation? Sound off in the comments below!
