X-Men: Apocalypse is slated for release on May 27, 2016, and director Bryan Singer has been eager to upload teasers for fans via his Instagram profile. Singer started uploading teasers for the next X-Men film way back in November (he began with a picture of construction in what appears to be Ancient Egypt), and his most recent upload is one of the most mysterious yet. Check it out below:

As you can see, the image features three containers, each showing the silhouette of a suit, in front of a green screen. What is really interesting about the tease is Singer's caption "Reminds me of #area51 #roswell". Now, we know that the CIA will be involved in the upcoming X-Men film, as Rose Byrne is set to reprise the role of CIA Agent Moira MacTaggert. We don't know much of anything about the revised timeline in the X-Men Universe, but it is possible the mutants could be working WITH the government at this point in time, as at the end of X-Men: Days of Future Past, the Sentinel program had been cut as the world saw Mystique's actions as a mutant saving the POTUS, so the mutants could actually be liked in this universe (I wouldn't expect that to stick, though, as this IS the X-Men, after all. They have a tendency to draw the short straw more often than not). Of course, there is also the possibility that the suits are actually costumes being held at the X-Mansion, but that would make the military-stencil font style seem somewhat out of place. Its also worth mentioning that the two silhouettes on either side seem to look tailored to fit the female form, whereas the one in the middle is suited to a male build.

But what do you guys think? Could they be the CIA trying to contain the mutants's powers? Are they the comic book accurate X-Men costumes we've heard rumours about? Do they even belong to the mutants, or could it just be something along the lines of CIA operative gear being held for field assignments? We'll be able to find out for sure when X-Men: Apocalypse lands in cinemas next May next year.

They better not be all black

@WinterSoldier33

In the trailer, Mystique and Kid Flash are shown to have black costumes.

It's the slightly underpowered Xbox-Men?

Gutspinner - 8/9/2015, 7:41 AM
@WinterSoldier33 hard to tell, what with the lighting, but I don't think they'll genuinely be black.

@MexicanSuperman yeah, and Singer hinted at more comic book accurate costumes. That being said, Quicksilver and Mystique did seem to be wearing costumes rather similar to what the future X-Men from DoFP wore, wouldn't you say? I've only seen it in low-res, but thats what they jumped out at me as

@ManCalledSting how about Civil War? Keen for that, or not too excited for it? And I believe that one of Singer's uploads seemed to be Quicksilver filming another slow-motion scene. And yes, Warren definitely needs to make that transformation in this one.

@Floke Xbox-Men vs Playpocalypse and his Four Playstation-Storemen?

Gutspinner - 8/9/2015, 7:51 AM
@ALmazing yeah, that suit seems very First Class-y and Original Era X-Men, but Colossus' suit indicates that there may be more variety when it comes to the costume regulations for the X-Men :P

@ManCalledSting ah okay, was just curious :)
are you hoping for Doomsday in BvS, or do you want WB/DC to save him for later down the track, maybe as a way to actually kill of Clark Kent in the DCEU?
DukeAcureds
DukeAcureds - 8/9/2015, 8:14 AM
Gutspinner@ Considering that DC/Warners do not currently have plans for any more Superman movies, in the DCCU/DC EU/Snyderverse, I think Doomsday is likely to show up at some point in either BvS or the Justice League films.
It would be hard to top Zod and the Phantom Zone criminals and the whole "Black Zero Event" in Man of Steel. You can't go from that to Bizarro or Mr. Mxytplk or Parasite, y'know? And they already got Lex in BvS. The only big villains left are Brainiac (hinted at as The World Engine, in MoS) and Doomsday.
So I would expect to see Doomsday and maybe even a bit more of Brainiac at some point, in the next few years.

Oh, also, just to point it out, that first pic that Bryan Singer posted of the construction of the pyramids? That was from Exodus: Gods and Kings, not X-Men: Apocalypse.

Gutspinner - 8/9/2015, 8:23 AM
@DukeAcureds I'm actually hoping that they save Braniac for a bit further in the future. DC needs to not waste all of their most powerful enemies too early on, y'know? I personally think Doomsday should be further down the track too, even if they did have to shift their plans somewhat to include a new superman movie somewhere down the track, Doomsday would be the right villain for that.
Also, I am aware that its not from Apocalypse haha. I (as well as many others) believe that it was uploaded as a tease for Apocalypse's Egyptian roots and whatnot. Hence the no-caption when he uploaded it, otherwise it probably would've said "loved this movie". Of course it could have just been him posting that he was watching it, but given the timing and the randomness of the image, myself and many other people have viewed it as a tease for Apocalypse.

@ManCalledSting I've actually been think, everyone has been expecting Lex to use Zod's body to make Doomsday, I personally think that he is potentially going to make Bizarro. If they adapt the New 52 version from Forever Evil, Bizarro was actually "B-0", a superman clone Lex Luthor was making but activated early due to the Crime Syndicate's invasion.
Metallo would be good.

@Niklander as in the picture, or the suits themselves? Because if its the latter, thats the idea aha, you're only meant to see the silhouettes :P

As much as people criticize this man, Josh Trank's dramatic failure made me realize how much of an experient filmmaker he is. We might never get the X-Men film we want, but at least we'll always have an enjoyable experience with him on board, in my opinion.
Gutspinner
Gutspinner - 8/9/2015, 8:57 AM
@MaxEisenhardt Trank isn't attached to X-Men, its Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg who are the high-profile names (excluding actors) that work on the X-Franchise

If the give us black and yellow I'll be happy. No more all black. It doesn't matter how intricate the design is when it's all black

I know, I was referring to the fact that he failed with the Fantastic Four, not that he had any type of involvement with the X-Men.

Are those Black Leather??

Seriously, haha
DrKinsolving
DrKinsolving - 8/9/2015, 10:53 AM
@ManCalledSting

I'm assuming leather because it's the Fox-Men, and yes, after Fant4stic, the Fox-Men are back for me. I hope Deadpool and Apocalypse are good, but personally my hype is down to zero after Fant4stic.

I love the look of Miller's costumes for Deadpool though, so hopefully we get something like that

Hopefully we get some news that Fantastic Four and the cosmic rights are finally coming home, that would help to gain some respect for Fox back

Gutspinner
Gutspinner - 8/9/2015, 11:02 AM
@MaxEisenhardt Oh, sorry. I thought you were saying something along the lines of X-Men will be enjoyable with Trank or something, I don't really know aha, its 4am over here in Australia :P

@DrKinsolving hopefully Nega Sonic Teen Warhead (jeezus thats a mouthful) wearing that suit means some kind of a revival for the First Class style suits, which have been closest to the suits the Original X-Men wore that we've seen on-screen yet. But I am really hoping for no more black leather too. @ManCalledSting does have a point, though it would've been nice if the costumes could have at least been a bit more, I don't know, costume-like
Gutspinner
Gutspinner - 8/9/2015, 11:03 AM
@ManCalledSting by costume like, I mean like the costumes each character wears in the comics by the way. Just so there isn't any confusion :)
DrKinsolving
DrKinsolving - 8/9/2015, 11:06 AM
@Gutspinner

Yeah, also the only reason Fox is using Nega Sonic Teen Warhead is because they were too cheap to allow Miller to use Garrison Kane

Bring back the classic yellow costumes from "X-Men: First Class"!
Gutspinner
Gutspinner - 8/9/2015, 11:11 AM
@DrKinsolving

Thats my biggest fear for Deadpool - that Fox controlling who it can use, because its already probably going to be affected somewhat by its R-Rating (though personally, I WANT the R-Rating), having lesser known characters in it will hurt it too. Hopefully Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool, and Colossus themselves will be enough to succeed.
Gutspinner
Gutspinner - 8/9/2015, 11:15 AM
@Darkknight2149 here's hoping thats what is on the other side of that glass!
DukeAcureds
DukeAcureds - 8/9/2015, 11:15 AM
Guntspinner@ Agreed. At this point, DC superheroes have become mythic and Doomsday is the guy that kills Superman. Just like Bane is the guy that breaks Batman. Sure they both got better, in the comics, but mythically, they have their Omega-level bad guys. So they should be reserved for the last movies.
I did think it was too early for Bane, right after The Dark Knight, but as it turned out, that was a pretty climactic movie.
Also, it would be nice to see a more solo Superman films, once they've done all the other solo films and Vertigo films and Justice League films and whatnot. It'd be nice to see more villains. Maybe we'll even see a few in Suicide Squad?
DrKinsolving
DrKinsolving - 8/9/2015, 11:23 AM
@ManCalledSting

Nope. That's not silly, it's called opinion

The only Fox X-Men movies I really liked were First Class and DOFP

Fox has always been hit or miss for me, and Fant4stic was the last draw. Unless the rights come back, if the Fantastic Four rights come back, I will have some respect for Fox because they would have acknowledged the fact that they messed up and the rights are better in the hands of Marvel Studios, where they care about the characters and the fans.
