BOX OFFICE: The X-MEN Franchise Hits $3 Billion Globally

Bryan Singer's latest X-flick is poised to become the top grossing film of the year so far, and its excellent box office performance has helped Fox's X-Men franchise, as a whole, hit the whopping 3 billion mark. More past the jump..

X-Men: Days of Future Past has reached $702.2 million in global ticket sales, pushing the combined total gross of the seven films in the series to $3.003 billion ($1.7 billion internationally, $1.3 billion domestically). Bryan Singer's latest installment is now the highest grossing film in the franchise so far, and if it continues to have legs it could well surpass the $703.2 million earned by The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and the $710.7 Captain America: The Winter Soldier amassed. Fox have had a couple of...missteps along the way, but overall the X-movies have been of a pretty high quality, with Days Of Future Past arguably the strongest entry yet. Let's hope that continues with X-Men: Apocalypse and beyond.

DOFP was a really good film but TWS was better IMO, but this film was still great my only problem with it was magneto once again being the villian not that he wasent awesome because he was. Fassbender is brilliant in the role.

marvelpsycho- exactly every time it seems magneto is on the good side (X2, first class,DOFP) at the very end of the film he goes all mutant extremist and turns into a villian. what i didnt like about it in DOFP is he made everything worse, i just wish he would have worked with prof x and the others for once. i hope they dont have him be the badguy at the end of the next film and overshadow apocolypse.
